The Consumer Electronics Show is going on. Anyone there or hear of anything cool? Links? I think the next gen. cell phones should be a leap forward. The new Blackberry is touchscreen?
I'm here at CES but employee #1 of 1 so stuck in booth from before open until after close - unfortunately can't look around. This place is a total zoo! Seems like entire population of Earth came to Vegas for this! Cobra is in booth behind me so I will check that out, plus our booth is pretty cool - TomTom/Tele Atlas. Cobra has an Exige in theirs.
I heard about the 150 inch tv. It looked pretty sick, anyone have any pictures of the event? Sounds like fun, how do you get in, do you have to be in the industry?
LG's phone-watch looks promising. An old business associate debuted his new company at CES and even got some face time on G4. I was supposed to be there with him, but this is our busiest time of the year..
After 4 years of going, I'm kinda over the whole gadget thing. I've spent more time in the poker room than I have at CES. Some trends I saw were: Very flat flat panels (Pioneer has a 9mm thick plasma!) Blu-Ray winning the HD war Mobile devices with touchscreens 3D displays (with glasses and some without) Pioneer showed a plasma screen that you literally cannot see when the lights are off even when it's ON! The blacks are that dark. It was a concept model. Hitachi, Sharp, and others had thin screens but not quite as thin as 9mm. For reference, an iPhone is 12mm thick.
