Has anyone seen or know this 308 at the Sports Car Company in La Jolla? (its been on ebay for quite a while)

I personally like the black on red but it has some items that don't look right to me. (door sills, speaker covers, e-brake handle, etc) These may be minor changes and just not my personal taste but I was wondering if anyone has seen the car in person or driven it? Thanks.

I'm a purist/concours guy, so take my comments in that vein, but this 308 has been 'kustomized' heavily. Wheels, bumpers, side louvres, steering wheel, etc. It would cost a lot of money to put it right, and IMHO it doesn't look good any more.

But, it could be a decent car underneath the mascara.

FChat'er rimoore works at Sports Car Company. You could PM him.

I actually inquired about this car back in the Spring of 2008. At the time, the car was in Sarasota, FL. The car was supposedly originally owned by an airline pilot who did all of the customizing, which, by the way, I actually think looks way better than a standard U.S. QV. Of course, this is all very subjective. The car as an aftermarket exhaust system and, in speaking to the Florida owner's mechanic, he didn't think it woukld pass CA smog. However, things may have been "updated" since that time. The car also did some time in Texas fairly recently, as I saw the ads on Craigslist; it is a very unique QV and thus easy to identify. I would be happy to check the car out for you (and Bullfighter aka Joh probably would, as well. Though I certainly won't speak for him!)

    Cordially,

    Scott

Jim Lyons is a great guy, reputable and doesn't sell junk. If he's selling it, it's worth whatever he asks.
