Started doing it recently.... wow, wish I discovered this 30 years ago!

I always always had clogged up sinuses, trouble breathing, snoring, post-nasal-drip. I tried pills and surgery with varying success, but this is the "icing on the cake". Simple, virtually free, and works awesome.

For those who don't know what I'm talking 'bout, it's essentially four 'stages'. First you pour warm salty water in one nostril and hold your head such that it flows out the other side. Its kinda gross, yes, but you wouldn't believe how much goo, snot, and whatever flows out. When you're done its like you've been breathing through a straw and suddently you opened your mouth. Stage 2 is sort of snorting while you do this and some of the flowing saltwater goes into your mouth, which you spit out. Phase three is sort of coughing it up your mouth and out your nose.

Sounds gross, but its warm and salt, so it's basically body-neutral, so it causes no uncomfortable reflex/reaction. It just flushes all the goop out of there and lets your B-R-E-A-T-H-E. Amazing!

If anyone is gonna try it, read up online how to do it - too much or little salt can sting, and too hot or cold water can sting, as can the wrong kind of salt.

I had the frickin pot sitting there for MONTHS - a bit freaked out to try it but when I did, it was like taking a piece of gauze off my mouth and breathing. It works as well as snorting that nose unblocker stuff when you're sick too. Try it - something like 95% of people report very positive results and start doing it on a daily basis.

Swimming in the ocean provides this same effect. I recommend Hawaii. :D

Hmmm warm salty liquids in my mouth. I'll pass! :D

Wonder who comes up with this stuff? Might give it a shot since my cold from 3 weeks ago hasn't seemed to go away.

Yeah, you probably have pockets of festering mucus in your sinuses that are little stagnant puddles of bacteria and viruses, which are keeping you sick. :p

I've thought the same thing about Oriental medicine; when I was in HS I took kung fu for a while, and the master was also an herbalist who trained for 13 years with the Shaolin monks. When I talked to him about my asthma, he prescribed a concoction of a fresh clove of garlic, crushed and put in 8 oz of orange juice and left to soak overnight. First thing in the AM, I was to drink the OJ. Let me tell you that those two flavors were never, EVER meant to be together like that.

I'm not sure if it was the martial arts or the wicked orange juice that helped my asthma, but I seem to recall it caused chest hair growth.

Somewhere on the net there's a vid of Jala Neti, they're just selling the pot, IIRC, but the looks of the lady "performing" are hilarious.
