In the spirit of the Bullrun and all the other high end runs, what would you guys think about doing a 2 week run next year hitting the top 12 driving roads in the US (one is in canada). Each one is only a couple of miles, but it would be fun driving to each one together. Drives like route 1 in cali are included, some are twisty and some are just scenic. Ive always wanted to do all of them (ive done 2 on the list) and it would be really cool to do it with a group. I will post the list of routes when I get home, but any interest in this?

Would love too but that is too far for me. If it was something like to FL and back I would be interested but can not drive all over the country as it is TOO long for me in a car but I am sure sure many others can't due to work.

yeah I def was thinking all the runs until I actually started to think about it more. There arent many on the east coast though. They all seem to be on the west coast. Ill post the list later tonight. I am more than willing to put my time into planning and organizing this if alot of people are interested. We can all just pay what it would cost and have some fun.

no way. I want to make this run all about the driving. We will stay at awesome hotels and such, but it wont be anything like bullrun or gumball. Just some good people and good driving. Non-wannabee AMG models welcome;)

I wouldn't call it a major run, but it should be a major event -- The Ferrari Club of America (FCA) will be holding its annual North American/International event up at Watkins Glen/Corning in 2007. It's a multi-day event, starting Wednesday August 29 and running through Labor Day weekend. Events will include a Concours on Thursday, a rally through upstate NY on Friday, a "driver ed" program at Watkins Glen on Friday, Track Days on Saturday and Sunday, plus a bunch of evening functions including a car show and reception at the Museum of Glass, and other receptions, dinners, etc. The town of Corning is really going all-out to make this event a success.

It should be a great event and there should be some outstanding F-cars there. Well worth the trip. I'm planning on going, if for nothing else but to do the track days and attend the events (I'm not much into showing my cars, I like to drive them). That might make for a nice trip, especially if you tagged a couple of days on before for touring, and end up at Corning/The Glen for the FCA event.

    Just a thought.

It isn't as long as a normal road trip. Time goes by way faster and you enjoy it more with others. You may be driving in a car 8-10 hours some days but it doesn't feel like it. It's the only way to see the country in my opinion if you're into driving.

That really sounds interesting. If you can keep the driving down a bit for each day you might be able to convince me. 8 hours a day should be okay with me.

I think a really cool run would be a maine to florida run. Get some good lobster in maine and end with good paella in miami. Like I said before, I am more than happy to coordinate everything and block off hotels. This stuff must take alot of planning so I am willing to start it soon if we have enough commitment. I am thinking maybe 7-14 days?

8 hours a day is a lot of driving, i think the longest day on the bull run driving was 7+ hours and it was exhausting. Try to keep the driving to 4-5 hours per day.

That would probably be better but I know he would have to cut the route. I think that is a better idea but so far you got me either way. I prefer shorter driving everyday but I will leave that up to the planner.
