    Hey gang,
Anyone done F1 to Manual conversion on the 360? Where? Cost? Worth it? Good? Happy with it?

    Thanks.

I just finished doing the swap on my 2003 360. I did all the work myself, I used the Cambio Manuale kit.

it was a lot of work, took me about 30 hours, but absolutely worth it. The car is totally transformed.

    cannot recommend it highly enough.

Wow that's awesome, you must be obviously very mechanically inclined. Where are you located? Wanna do mine? haha

I’m in the Phoenix area, happy to show you the car if you’d like to check it out. Not sure I’m quite ready to tackle the job again. It was a lot of work, definitely not for the faint at heart (Although I actually think it was easier than doing my timing belts, but that’s a story for another time.)

There are tons of posts on this subject. I personally did it myself on my Challenge Stradale. I also chose the Modena Lucerna kit because it seems to be the best made and best materials, and it's complete. It seems that all the shops that do conversions often are now using it if they supply the kits, so that means a lot as well. Very pleased with making the decision to convert it to manual.

The modena Lucerna and Cambio Manuale kits seem to be the best quality from what i have seen in person.

Hundreds of people have done the conversions using various kits.

One thing to note is that Cambio Manuale (Dr S) https://cambiomanuale.com/ kits offer two installation options, an "easy" one and a "difficult" one. The "easy" one allows the conversion without transmission removal, so it works very well for DIY people or people who want to save a few thousand dollars of shop labor (and not to sell a kidney to do the conversion :). Or have had the clutch recently changed and don't want to remove the transmission again.

The "difficult" process (which is the same as everyone else is using) involves the transmission removal and is the best option to order if a clutch change is needed.

Of course the car converted the "easy" way can be made identical to the "difficult" one (which is also the "Ferrari way") at the next clutch change, using a few different hydraulics parts which can be provided with the kit.

I did it myself with the kit from Dr S above, the "easy way" . Couldn't be happier; and my F1 was working like clockwork, not an issue. I just like manual better.

Randy at RMT knows my conversion with the Dr. S kit. He didn't do it but has worked on my car, and he may be willing to do conversions honestly. Should reach out to him, great guy and masterful tech. He's in Yorba Linda.
