Anyone else submitting an application for the Mustang GTD?

The solution is to build more cars.

 

No thanks. Too ugly. Too expensive. Questionable build quality.

 

Guys: Does anybody know what the "tech panel" is? This part is one of the bare carbon parts on the Carbon Series car.

 

No clue. I just got and returned that preferences form which was very short on details.

 

It's the panel you would normally call the trunk lid, but there is no trunk. You have to be careful when removing it, and it's a two person job.

 

It's actually the see through panel inside the car where you can see the suspension. I emailed the concierge.

 

I was astounded that one of the options was a special edition but there were no pics of what that would look like. I emailed the concierge and they responded that you're not bound to your preferences form and it's just for planning purposes to give them a general idea of demand for the various configurations.

Or that you wouldn't need to buy an optional "Performance Package", right?

Call me crazy, but the ONLY options on a $300K Mustang should be colors.
"Here's your $300K Mustang sir. But if you want it to be REALLY fast, you should get the Performance Package"

 

Guess what? As it turns out, it's actually a $400K Mustang.

 

I would put my Mc Laren 720S Spider up against it any day. I am now going to duck.

Still waiting to see how much they are going to charge for special paint. Hopefully, less than Ferrari.

 

Hmm, they must have misunderstood somehow. The tech deck that is referred to as being exposed CF as part of the Carbon Series is this:

Nurburgring under 7 min - Dropping Dec. 10th

Have to assume it must be sub 7 min. How far below is the real question. Can this thing get sub 6:50?

We’ll know smothering 12/10 (I am wondering if they got a good run or if they will be back in spring).

 

On the GTD forum someone said Ford performance liked a post guessing sub 6:40. That seems ludicrous. Can’t really bring myself to even hope for anything below 6:50.

 

6:57- in less than ideal conditions. Darn fast. Have to wonder what it can do on an ideal track.

 

Imagine if it were 500 lbs lighter.

 

Just watched video- conditions seem solid to my eye (overcast, check. dry, check, not sure about ambient temp or how green it was).

That is probably about what it can do.

 

Completely agree. Give me less power if it comes with less weight.

 

I would assume the display is in KM ?
I saw him hit just over 300 in a few spots.
