Just curious how hard it is to get tickets and what it's like.
I have been in the audience of a show taping. It was ok not as good as watching the show.

Do the guys just come one do their thing and leave? Or do they interact with people?

Haven't done it but heard the waiting list for tickets is something like 3 yrs. I think it would be worth the wait though.

My wife wants to get on the list and plan a vacation around it.

seems it would be worth it to raise ticket prices, and use a much bigger studio.

I have been on the show twice, both occasions I have been there with cars that have appeared on the show, this allows you different wrist bands which allow you in during filming rehearsals and the lunch, the Stig actually ate dinner with a balaclava on!!

Interaction was great, Clarkson was extremely forthcoming on both occasions with his thoughts on the cars he had tested and simple chit chat, also signed numerous copies of the magazine for us to take home.
Hammond was also very friendly, showed great interest in chatting with us and telling us about his car collection.

The filming was far funnier than the screened show, if only they could leave in all the swearing and goofs, it was hilarious! Waiting list is enormous as stated earlier. Good luck!

You actually let them drive your car on the show? They seem to drive those test cars like they are trying to kill them.
Maybe it's more in the editing that makes it look that way.

For 500 £ i don't think I'll go lol. I'll just put myself on the 21 year waiting list, Clarkson will be what 80?

The first car was a Citroën C2 'ICE' show car we built, centre seat conversion, one off paint job inside and out, it was stationary in the studio yet the lighting guys still managed to take 2 chunks out of the interior paint work after setting up lights to illuminate Richard in the interior.

The second time was with the Gumpert Apollo, a good friend of mine owns the car. They blew a rear driveshaft on the car by doing a number of full blown standing starts 'for the camera' luckily they had already done the hot laps to get the record at the time. This gave 3 days before the cars debut at Goodwood FOS for a new driveshaft to be sent from Germany, this was fitted at Goodwood the night before it ran up the Goodwood hill.

There are numerous tales of cars being damaged and not taken care of on the show.

Do they at least pay for the repairs? Or do you sign some sort of waiver?
