Gumball is a very large event, sounds like it could get tiresome, but hey, you never know. Personally, I'd prefer La Carrera ;) According to a few Fchatters, the best experience ever.

In the Carrera the Federales are on your side and you do not have to worry about speeding in the transit stages. This year we were on the highway coming into Leon, MX and a Federale got in front of me in the left lane and started pushing people out of the way by getting about 2 feet off their rear bumper and then we would take off and were going 120-140 MPH for over 10 miles. Then he just got off the highway and gave us a wave. That will never happen in the Bull Run or Gumball

Were you featured in the Gumball movie? I remember the father and son in the red 575M and black 360 w/ black wheels. Was it you?

Is there any prize ($$$) for winning the rally? Not that it matters, just was curious.

I think a nice thing of this years GB rally is that it includes tickets to the Olympics! There are always some nice party's going on there...And it's a unique experience off course!

I can't see it ever being that good again. That was the best route that has been done, it worked out really well I believe. From what I have read last year's route didn't work very well. This years proposed finish in North Korea doesn't sound too appealing IMO...

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like Gumball will never be the same after last years tragedy?

I was in last year's Gumball and the accident was just that, an accident. Getting arrested in Germany was pretty lame and getting shorted out of the Istanbul to Athens leg was lame. The event being cancelled with two legs to go sucked but was understandable given the circumstances. This year will have three US stints, San Fran to LA, LA to San Diego and San Diego to Las Vegas. There were rumours of a drive through North Korea across the DMZ but I don't think that will materialize. It will take two days to clear customs in China so there may be a participant stop over in North Korea. We are trying to book rooms now. The China driving finishing at the Olympic opening ceremony should be good. I agree with Paul N that the best route was the around the world route two years ago. This is the tenth aniversary and it will be an adventure. It isn't for everyone and that is why there are so many different rallys to choose from . Go to gtspirit.com to check out a bunch of good choices. I am going again this year and will report back.
