I was leaving Concorso on Sun from where I was staying in Sand Dollar beach and apparently I pissed off a Z3 driver behind me. I got to a stop sign and he got out, ran up to my car, smacked the back of my quarter panel with is hand, and started yelling at me through my window. He was under the impression that I was speeding through his nieghborhood "way to fast" and that I should "slow the fu*k down". I got out of the car, checked my quarter panel, and relieved there wasn't a dent turned and gave him a friendly shove. He apparently wasn't as much of a bad ass as he thought he was as he returned no physical gesture. I had a few more choice words with him wrote down his plate, and went on my way. I am still astounded that he thought it was OK to do such a thing, he had his 6 year old daughter in the car for Gods sake. Just wondering if anyone else has had anything similar. By the way I was speeding a little (50 in a 35), but it was an open road, very rural area, and no kids or pedestrian traffic at all.

That's called jealousy my friend. He was driving a girls BMW. Did he have a bumper sticker that said Free Hugs? I've never had anyone do anything like that to me yet in my TR, but stories like this are why I carry a butterfly knife in my center console. Whip one ofthose out and see what people do.

I had something similar happen a few months back.. the guy didn't get out of his car but he was yelling obscenities while he was stopped next to me at a light. I simply responded by pulling out my digital camera (i take it everywhere) and started snapping pics, he shut up and rolled up his window immediatly. I can't find the pic's right now but I will post them later :)

    My story.
On Saturday, I was making a left turn across 3 lanes of traffic. No lights to stop the cars coming at me, but I saw they were stuck behind a red light down the road about 2 blocks away. I pulled out then saw traffic from right side, so I stopped. Then I look left and saw those cars at the red light had a green. Now remember they are about 2 blocks away. I'm just in reverse and slowing backing up because there could be cars coming up behind me and those cars 2 blocks away will take another 10 seconds to pass me. But as soon as they start going this car HOLDS DOWN the horn, at first I didn't know why. I'm still backing up slowly and those cars are not even near me and I'm clearing the lane of traffic I was blocking and I hear the horn that someone's hand got stuck to.
This *****, has the audacity to hold that horn down for 10 seconds, while I'm backing up anyway. When she approaches my car, she slows down, has one hand holding down her horn. The other is fliping me the bird, she slows down and says "****ING CHINK, learntodriveee" as she passes. All the time the horn on and finger up. I was just shocked really... how someone could be that mad.

Oh and back in high school in heavy traffic at the red lights we (passengers) got out and had slapfights inthe street. I don't know what we were thinking back then.

I had a yahoo throw a full coke (in a cup) at the door of one of my 550s on the freeway once. He was driving like an AH trying to hold me up. When I passed him, he threw it.

Not a driver, but a pedestrian. Many years ago, in Hollywood, I was a passenger in my friend's (very pretty Tangerine) Jensen-Healey waiting to pull into traffic from a driveway. As we waited there, we suddenly heard this pounding and *whack* *whack* *whack*! As we turned around, this 350 lb construction worker (hard hat, boots, etc) walked off. The nearby pedestrians and we looked at him walking away and then at the car and saw about six-seven 5-8" dents in the rear trunk lid and fenders of the car.

The only thing we could figure is that he had a very ***BAD*** day and chose to take it out on something that was in his way. The car was covered by insurance, but it was a very interesting conversation with the claims agent explaining that a madman just started pounding on the car!

I had a guy in a Camaro pull out in front of me on a divided highway once when I was driving my M3. I came up on his bumper (didn't have much choice), but backed off pretty quick.

He got out at the next traffic light with a baseball bat yelling at me. What he didn't see was the state trooper behind me. I think they had a pleasant conversation, I left when the light turned green...

I had a bad experiance with this before. A friend and I were driving on a long strech of highway. We were going about 95 mph trying to get home when a Lumina pulled next to us and flashed a badge. We pulled over as instructed. I go right out of the car and walk towards the "police" car. The guy then tried to fight me. My friend ran from his car and helped me out. As we were fighting on the side of this highway his friend was yelling get those *****es, they shouldnt drive this fast here.

Long story short, the guy pretended to be a cop and tried to fight us....we used this excuse to fly home really fast

Once a few years back, I was driving my Jeep Wrangler. I was about 2.5 miles from my home, on a 35 MPH residential area. I took a right onto the main road. I didn't cut anyone off, had plenty of time, and quickly made it up to the speed limit. There was a woman behind me honking and flipping me off. I mean non stop for about 1 mile. Since it was a woman, with a baby seat in back, I wasn't really worried, so I headed home. I hit my garage door opener and pulled right in, she actually pulled into my drive way, and rolled down her window with not one but 2 BABIES in her back seat. I calmly got outta my car, walked over to the corner of the garage where my yard tools are. I picked up my big, black fiber glass handled ax and walked toward her. I very calmly said, "Ma'am, you are on my property and threatening me. I don't feel safe. You should never follow anyone home, do you have any idea what kind of crazy men are out here. By the way, I see you have babies on board.". SHE TURNED WHITE. Reversed quickly and left. What a moron, seriously, she was all alone and followed a man back to his house while yelling all the way. DANGEROUS!

On topic though About 7 years ago I was in my T-bird driving on 101 in the Bay Area when someguy cuts me off baaad (had to slam on brakes) in a big econoline van so I proceeded to get in front of him and see if my brakes were experiencing any fade from the preivious stop. Well, he wasn't exactly thrilled about that and proceeded to try and run me of the road about three times. So I took the next exit and he followed I pulled into a parking lot and he pulled up quick behind me at which point me and three of my buddies hop out the car. I never seen an econoline do a J-turn before but he pulled a pretty damn good one and hauled ass out of the parking lot. I guess he thought he was a bad ass and couldn't see in to my car becuase of the 5% tint. His confidence disappered real quick when he saw 4 people get out of the car.

For the non-threatening, screaming types, the best thing to do is point your finger at them and laugh. You want to see 'em get really p.o'd!?? :)

Protection's always a good thing with the get out of the car, beat your fender and threaten to kick your arsch (or at least try to) types.

Actually, the bat is the answer....or a short pipe.

I use a sledge hammer handle also, the hickory has a solid feel, upon impact with bone........look, this one still has a lil' human hair stuck to it....that's a nice touch........

Only as a very last resort, should you throw some lead.........too much paperwork involved.

imo, unless there is damage to your car, "smile....be cordial.....apologize for any unintended mishap and drive away". too many irrational behavior on the road today....frankly, a day or week from now, it won't matter.....

a few years back, coming upon a construction zone, witha merdging lane into the right, you always have the few that speed all the way down the shoulder and then try to cut in last minute.

well this wasnt his lucky day, as I had no place to go to let him in, so he (was in a white PU) had to hit the construction barrels and cones, etc.. and he got behind me, and then proceeded to ride my tail thru this contrustion zpone.

When we got to a 2 lane road, he pulled beside, abnd started ripping off his shirt, and acting like he was going to jump out of the truck at me, and all the while I was just laughing my butt off at him, and more so when he rear-ended the state trooper doing construction detail (has he was spending all his time yelling at me, and not looking were he was driving)

    Some people...

Everyone should get a trunk monkey for road rage incidents. They look like a pefect solution. Many of you have proably seen the ad for them. I don't know where to find a link for it, but I'm sure someone with more computer skills than me can find a link for it

had a similar incident several years ago in my mondial t

    situation--
guy (shaved head, tatooed, very big...more like fat, but tall as well) kept going around me on the freeway in his truck, cutting me off very close several times.
i looked over at him like what the fu_k are you doing.
proceeded to follow me off the freeway.
proceeded to tail gate me for about 1/2 mile.
started to get very close to my home.
i was afraid he'd follow me home so i punched it and lost him, i was also afraid he'd dent my car and maybe kick my ass truthfully

i've owned ferrari's for nearly 15 years and i have had road rage incidents in each one of them, although different circumstances each time

    sucks sometimes :(

I had this happen to me two days ago. I was heading down the road to my development going probably 50 in a 35, and this guy was waiting at a stop sign as i passed him at about 50. He followed me to MY house. I parked my car in the driveway (outside) and he zoomed past my house, slammed on the brakes, and backed up. He blocked my driveway, jumped out of his Astrovan and walked up to me in my driveway.
The ensuing conversation line by line:

Angered Astroman: "What the hell are you doing?"
Me: "What are you talking about, do you need directions?"
Angered Astroman: "Tell me you weren't f**king speeding down that f**king road in that car."
Me: "Look man, I don't know what you are talking about."
Angered Astroman: "Listen, if I EVER see you speeding like that again, I will hunt you down."
    Me: "Is that a threat?"
Angered Astroman: "You f**king heard me, I will HUNT you down."
Me: "I think you should get off my property, immediately."
Angered Astroman: "You f**kin punk, don't let me catch you again." (as he POKED me in the chest with his cigar)
Me: (reached for my cell phone, dialed 911, showed him the 911 on the cellphone screen, I held it to his face so he could read it.) "GET OFF MY PROPERTY, NOW."

Needless to say, Astroman was angered and stormed off to his Astrovan and drove away. I've parked my car in the garage every night since, I'm not taking a chance with this ass.

So you were going 50 in a 35 in a development and the guy was mad at you? I can't beleive it. If you went 50 down my street I would kick your a$$ on the spot. Were you certain that there was no kids anywhere? Did you first get out of your car a look before you did something like that. People that speed down roads where there are homes (with kids) or anywhere where there is people has no excuse and deserves to get their A$$ handed to them. Don't get me wrong but speeding down residential roads is not to be done and you should expect someone to call you on it. GO find an empty freeway or track if you want to speed like that.

I was driving home from the airport in my CLK one afternoon with 3 of my guy friends when this woman in a silver BMW 7 series got behind me in my neighborhood and started honking and swerving. She was maybe two inches off my bumper and I pulled aside only to have her flip me off and drive by. I chased her down, got behind her and started wailing on my horn. She finally realized I wasn't going away and she pulled over. I rolled up next to her and rolled down my windows. The look on her face when she saw a MB full of mean looking guys with tattoos all over was priceless. She was maybe 35 or so with one of those stupid Bluetooth headsets on her head.

I asked her what her "fu-kin problem" was, and she stammered and said "uh...um...I thought you were my brother in law, he has...um...the same car." I said, "listen lady, something real bad could have happened to you and I would suggest you get your a** out of here RIGHT NOW before I get even more upset." She made tracks.

Turns out she's a landlord for a few homes in here. She's been polite to me and waves every time she sees me now. I just look at her and drive on by.

Perhaps I should have clarified. There are no homes along this road I was driving on. It's a road that's wide enough for two lanes on each side, but only has one + a large shoulder on each side. There is a sidewalk on both sides, past the said shoulder. There aren't homes on this road, nor are there any people that actually do the 35 mph speed limit. Every time I go down that road I'm following someone else who is doing 50. Just so happened that this time there was nobody in front of me. The stop sign that this guy was waiting at was the end of another road exactly like the one I was on, that heads down towards more developments. This road leads TO developments, they are not directly off of the road. It is NOT a residential area where children would play. Sure there is the occasinal bicyclist on the road, but they stay on the sidewalk, and trust me nobody was going to be even outside on the day when it was 96 degrees with 75% humidity. But then again, you point the finger at me, but look at all the other people in this thread you can point a finger at.

edit: Where I live, there is never an empty freeway, and the closest track is 35 miles away, and I have to take the freeway to get there. I can only average 35 on the freeway, which has a speed limit of 55, because of the insane amounts of traffic during the only times I would have time to go 35 miles east to a track.

I'm sure you've sped down roads where there are PEOPLE also. People are everywhere.
