An infrequent problem. Usually seen in older cars when there's a bad plug, plug wire or a misfire. If shutting it down and restarting did not clear it, i'd check the plugs... in the 575, though, an ECU problem like this should be diagnosed instantly via the SD2.

    Dude,
This is not advised as a diagnostic procedure.
"...after starting it again and reving it up to redline for a couple of minitues the car runs fine agian..."

Well, maybe if its under warranty.

I really hope you have a bad sense of time and it only for a second, because reading that made me cry.

Good luck on getting the problem fixed though.

F-Engines tend to me two halves runing in symphony.
So also common for the older cars is a bad ground to the ignition system causes 1/2 the engine to run.

I'd be surprised if it was a bad ground on a 575. Has anything else electrical been acting "funny" lately? lights dimming, Headlights popping off/on? etc?

    I'd be checking the ECU.
