I realize that this topic seems strange but one never really knows here in F chat as there are some pretty amazing people that have some great contacts.

It was a known fact that sometimes Enzo used to meet customers that were going on factory tours, though how often this happened is open to debate.

I often wonder what it would have been like to meet the great man and what an interesting conversation could have been had.

Interesting topic, I unfortunately never met the man. I'm interested in seeing who here has met him though.

Subtract the whites and you pretty much have it. Except I think people would have a hard time with Enzo introducing himself as "Supa, Supa Soul".

They would probably be saying - "Yeah, its kinda like Supa Soul, but he kind of sounds uptight or something..."

Believe it or not, I actually took a rather religious young girl to see this movie back in 1971...she walked out during that scene and had to cool her heels in the lobby as I was not about to follow her right at the good part.

You cannot believe the Oklahoma City redneck revving of muscle cars and burning out in the parking lot after that show.

I was too dignified to take part, mostly because I had a Porsche 911T Targa and it neither made much noise nor burned out very well.

Whoops - I just realized that I am the primary culprit in a paranormal thread hijack.

I really would like to hear from anyone who had a real-life meet with Enzo.

I talk to him once in a while. He is the primary deity in my religion. He doesn't answer me back - at least not in words.

James and Brian, you guys better not be giving away good parts of Vanishing Point - I haven't seen it yet and am looking forward to its debut on cable.

    Ferrari 360 CS,

I think that you should post this in the Vintage Section, if you want a serious reply.

There are several men, who have known and talked with him, there.

    Ciao...Paolo

Carbon, I can't say from personal experience. But from what I have heard, you had to pay to play with Sig. Ferrari

AJ Foyt's Shop Manager, Jack Starnes, told me of the experience of their Factory visit...when I have more time and there's less BS in the thread I'll recount that......

I have also had a very vivid dream during the start up of my racing efforts, after purchasing my first Ferrari...after his death...

I walked down the Engineering offices, into a room, he stood up pulling a finished but black and white rendering from the table....

He turned and handed the drawing to me, saying "Here....I am done.....YOU finish it...."

I think he meant the color selection.........I woke up in my bed looking around the room, dead certain the dialoge had taken place...I went on the set Pole Position twice in the Texaco Grand Prix of Houston, and numerous other Ferrari adventures before retiring from competition....

Oh, I pay! I pay him much praise and admiration. In return, I get advice and wisdom. It's a nice trade off if you ask me.

My Grandfather owned the Ferrari dealership here in Denver from the mid 60's to early 70's(I will have to talk to him to confirm exact years). He was good friends with Enzo, they would eat and drink together when he was in Italy, tour the factory, drive new cars. Enzo always gave him gifts to take home, 2 of which were (one yellow, one red)silk banners with the prancing horse and ferrari script underneath. He said that he sat down in front of Enzo's desk, and Enzo pulled two envelopes out of his drawer. Enzo slid them infront of him and said "for your sons" and smiled. I beleive that one letter said Jack, and the other Stephen(my Dad). My dad still has it....
Enzo also gave my Grandfather 24kt Gold, Ferrari shield cuff links. They are beautiful, I will take some pictures and post them as soon as I have a chance. I am going to try to get him on this thread, I will have to type for him because he has difficulty typing. But I think that he can offer alot of first-hand insight on Enzo that could'nt be heard elsewhere.
The one thing that our family still has is photos(slides) Enzo let my Grandfather take of the factory to show his kids and family here in Denver. There are HUNDREDS of them, cars getting assembled, painted, engine assembly. finished cars, race cars, everything.
I will post again next week with a little more insight on Enzo, Or have my grandfather get on here and tell the storys himself.

    Cheers,

What a great piece of family history.

Learn all of it you can. Someday it will be up to you to be the family story teller.

And take care of those artifacts. Some day they will mean a lot to your son.
