So has anyone here ever owned a Porsche 968 before?. If so what experiences did you have with it? what where the common problems with the car?.
Pinion/diff bearings tend to go with time........an expensive repair, since you've got it all apart to fix it. Timing belts, water pumps, balance shaft, motor mounts, rear hatch release, sunroof gears, climate control unit, the standard 944 stuff pretty much applies...... www.968.net A great car IMHO........I sold them when they were new, and we couldn't give them away because of the recession and the prices we had to ask, so the pickings today are pretty thin. If you can get an M030 car (factory lowered sport suspension, 17" wheels, cross drilled rotors, etc) you're lucky........I had a 6 speed coupe as my driver for 6 months and loved it.
I remember test driving a nearly new white 968 cab -- definitely a great car, and looked nice as well. I wish I had that car now, as they are rare by modern standards.
My brother had one, easy to drive on the track, well balanced. Good around town and very reliable. Not fast like a 944 turbo, but if you don't care about the extra speed then go for it.
I had a 1994 968 w/ 6mt. Was a wonderful car and was plenty fast. Headgasket blew and I sold it. Funny how you can say both of those in a review, eh ;p To the car's defense, it did have over 200,000 miles
