I think member Roma1280 has written about this. I was underneath my car whilst undergoing an oil change and I noticed the splitter looks to be held to the rest of the car via a series of screws. I figured it wouldn't be too difficult to remove, but it sure would be nice if you could be under the car. I have a feeling the part will not be inexpensive as this is Ferrari......
Thanks for the quick reply guys. Glad i have the regular plastic splitter. $650 doesn't seem so bad. Seems like an easy replacement...6 screws. Guess i just need to search the dealer network for the best deal. Wonder if there are companies out there that sell parts from salvage cars. After today, i would consider buying a pair of these. Didn't realize they break so easy.
Recently cracked my cf one. New was around $6k from dealer. Plastic one was about 1k. Ferrari of Houston was able to repair the cf. It looks terrific and you can't tell. The guys at FoH are awesome.
Any before and after pics? Just curious how easy or difficult the repair was? Might buy a new plastic one and try to repair the original just to have as a spare.
This is the one area where a front view camera would come in handy. My front splitter is cf...I'm very careful so far.
I have all the cameras and honestly really can't tell how close things are. Had my son call out the distance from outside once while parking and was closer than what the front camera appeared. Still have to be very careful.
Front F12 splitter is one of best engineered parts on recent modern Ferrari`s. Yes, it can be damaged pretty easily, but it is much better solution than changing whole bumper
I think you are right about that. I have the camera and sensors. I find it is very helpful but I've learned how to judge it.
I also have the front camera, lifter, and sensors. After two years of ownership, I've never had an incident. Unfortunately, this time it was a poor calculation of how much throttle i needed on an incline to get the nose near the curb.
Can anyone help me source the front splitter at the actual price shown in the attachment? Ive asked a couple dealers in LA, and they all gave me ridiculous prices ($1,500+) for the plastic one. Didn't check anywhere else in the states. Europe is also an option, as the car is currently there. I just figured that the U.S. would be cheaper for parts (as per the price in the pic).
