My wife and I were in the RV this week, and she went to an antique mall while I decided to go swimming. As she was about to leave, someone came in with this item, and she immediately expressed interest in it, on my behalf. It appears to be a grille badge, though I don't know if it has any kind of significance.

Any input on if it has any kind on historical usage is greatly appreciated! I don't mind if it's nothing special, as it already has great meaning to me. :)

    Thanks!

It appears to be an after-market type grille badge to me.

    But, it is all good.

If my wife brought me home something Ferrari just because she thought I would like it; it would mean a lot to me, too.

Put it where you can see it and remind you of the good things in life, and enjoy!

    Have a great day,

Thank you! It's right here on my desk, where I can see it all the time and be reminded of the car and the wife, all in one item!

    Take care!

These were sold by all of the "stringback glove" accessory stores back in the 60s-80s. Car marques, countries, crests. Retailed for $3.95 in the 1966 Vilem B. Haan catalog.

That's pretty neat info - I'll look further into that... In the meantime, while it sits on my desk (and my car approaches completion of its major and mini-restoration), I consider if there's any good-looking way to affix this to an F355 Spider... probably not, though, eh?

There should be evidence of two studs on the back.

The intent was to span thru some grill bars, and put a backing plate and two nylocks on the back.

No real contact damage with the grill that way.

I have one from the SCCA, old wheel logo...
I didn't pay much for it but it's far too valuable and rare now to leave outside at night!

it's lost in my Living Room here, somewhere.

    That's approximately it, yes!

You are correct, it has the two long studs (which make it stand up nicely on the desk!), with two nuts and the bracket plate on the back, but no nylon washers (I'm sure Home Depot has a couple thousand varieties of those that would fit this!). The studs are spaced about an inch and a quarter apart, so I've got to find a place on the car (front grille?) that would hold it in place, if I want to actually put it on the vehicle, which I'm still debating. It's not like an F355 doesn't have Cavallino logos everywhere, as-is...

There you go.....yes it's meant to be in the grill.

But you might put it on another car as in:

"My OTHER car is a Ferrari!"
