I'm pretty sure I want to go one, but just am not too excited about the need to wait in line for hours. Nobody seems to be doing pre-orders, and I just feel like taking a day off and waiting over night for a game system seems a bit absurd. What is everyone else planning to buy one going to do? Thanks, -Peter
I'm going camping My friend and I are planing to camp out in front of best buy. There dosent seem to be a big demand in this area for such items, so the wait should'nt be that bad. I live right down the street from BB and have to pass it to go anywhere so If we see that I line is forming we will get in on it if not plans are to go there and just hang out we have madden 07 for the psp so we will be in good shape.
Yeah there is a new BB kind of out of the way here in Austin, it's only a few months old as well. When 360s were tough to get, my friend walked in there and they had about 20. Hopefully people won't think of that one. Also it's not in a crowded area, so we can't look too dumb if nobody's around to see us
Yeah people up here passed up the elmo craze as well. They had a shelf full of them, hoping for the same luck with the PS3
I'll get one too Shipping 1million Wii's. The funny thing is that I really don't play games that much. Just when friends come over. The blu-ray and hd-dvd players in the PS3 and Xbox360 HD-DVD addon are my main reason for getting them With 50 and 55" plasmas in the house, regular DVDs really don't work anymore It's sad when you start waiting for good movies to come out on HD broadcast....
me too. with the Wii I'm thinking maybe, just MAYBE my wife will play. And I think it will be better for game content when my kids start playing in 2-3 years (although my older toddler already wants to hold a controller when I play).
I've lost my hardcore gaming interest. I have a X-Box (passed on the 360, not impressed enough for the price and don't like EA Sports piss-poor efforts with exclusive agreements) and I only play it when I go to my friends house or if I get an urge every once in a great while. Am I the only one? Is it some thing that happens with age?
heh...I was really excited at first, but ill still get it, but not that much interested anymore. I might find a way to buy two and keep one for myself and sell the other one on ebay or amazon, get a few extra dollars. but, time will tell. How many were they supposed to send over to the states?
I'm sure I'll buy one, since I sold my launch day xbox 360 for $1300 less than 8 hours after I bought it
I'm DEFINITELY buying a Wii. The reason I play video games is to have fun, and the Wii looks like a LOT of fun.
I'm sure I'll buy one down the line. I won't continue my succession of getting Playstations in the first few weeks. PS1, picked up a month after release. PS2 my mom picked one up on release date (still have no idea how she pulled that one off), and gave it to me at Christmas. I'm actually thinking about picking up a DS Lite. Don't really play video games anymore, but thought it would be cool to have when I'm in the "library". LMAO
400k, a little bit more than the 360 at launch. Yeah I'm hoping the same with my girlfriend and the Wii... atleast with so many shipped, it'll be easy to get a Wii.
I have a deposit on one but it's still not guaranteed I'll even get one. I thought about just selling it until the 2nd gen version comes without all the bugs.
I am in line right now! Anyone is San Jose who wants one will have to buy it for me. I am buying out everyone and re-selling them for $$$.
I think I'm going to wait a few months for the demand to go down. And if I'm lucky, a price drop. I also dont want to spend 700 bucks only to find out the console is not all its cracked up to be. Which shouldnt be the case, but you never know.
I might wait in line. I dont know. I spent tons of money on Xbox360 and looking back I just plain dont think its worth it.
My girlfriend wants to tag along and buy one as well... to sell. I think it's crappy to do that, until I realized 1/2 of the people getting them are planning on doing that. So whatever. I'll keep mine and just let it gather dust
I'll be camping at walmart. Its a lot better than best buy and other places cause you don't have to wait till 10am. I usually pick up my system at 12am. I've done it for every system since the dreamcast, but there wasn't really a line for that one.
Another guy who's thinking of buying one (or 2) just to sell it ... Still have my "old" PS2, only play once in a while ... When Gran Turismo 5 comes out, I'll get the PS3. By then, it will probably be dirt cheap!
