Since my good friend is selling his 1905 FIAT 60HP at the RM Villa Erba auction in Lake Como this weekend, I was just reading through the catalog. The quality of cars at this auction is better than almost any other I've seen. (While Monterey/Pebble might be larger, these cars are mostly true blue chips.)

I was curious if anyone is going to the sale and maybe bidding on one of the many F-cars. There will be '53 340/375 MM, a 288 GTO, 250 GT Lusso, Enzo, F40, F50, 500 Superamerica, the obligatory 365 GTB/4 (but in gorgeous Blu Dino), '65 275 GTB, 275 GTS, 365 GTC...and a bunch more. There are also a boatload of Bugattis, a Moretti.

Of course, after riding in the 1905 FIAT and helping to show it at Pebble last summer, I'm very sorry to see that go and leave town. Someone, however, will be buying one of the most significant and original early supercars. A 1905 car made mostly of aluminum capable of over 80mph? How can you go wrong?!?!

I wish I was there to see it and the F-cars trade hands.
