I can't make SCS for a while. Boy has soccer games 8:30 every Saturday for s few months. See you then
Give me a shout Shark01 when you want to "blow the dust off the Diablo". Drove a few Gallardo's yet could only drool over the Diablo's and I would love to experience the thrill. Thanks, Gregg
Went this morning......geez this show needs a SERIOUS quality upgrade. With only 40 something spots I expected to see some of the best classics in town. Instead, you get regular cars you see every day (standard 911, a couple GTRs, R8, couple of Astons, late model Corvettes) that are just nice daily drivers, not supercars. And then you have a few good, reasonably common exotics (430s, Gallardos, Ford GTs, Aventadors). Going in I thought my car wouldn't be able to cut the mustard..... Interesting venue though, and plenty of parking.
Sounds good and yes the Fall would be great, thank you. By chance did you ever have your Diablo at Sphere as there were several in the shop when I was there?
No, I just took delivery in May so it hasn't had any service needs yet. And you would remember this typically outrageous Lamborghini color scheme Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow. Everyone's a critic. You brought your diablo? I must have missed it. I thought the meeting was great. A nice mixture of different cars in a small venue. Past shows have had F40s, 288GTO, 275GTB, Countach, Diablo SVs. The nice "daily drivers" are Supercars to a lot of people. 2 LFAs not count?
Just throwing out a review for those who are on the fence. There were a handful of real supercars. I expected a lineup like you describe. 99% of the cars there today could be seen just driving down Westheimer on a weekend day. No, I didn't bring a car as I just wanted to see what it was about the fist time.
No worries. I think you are a little harsh but your opinion is fair. I had my 99 Diablo SV there a couple times. This is not Pebble Beach.
The eye of the beholder thing. Personally it would not like to see anything newer than a 328 or anything domestic or Japanese or German for that matter You get what shows up.
Actually I quite like that its manageable from the number of vehicles perspective and your likely to be able to talk to the owners ... I like that they keep the area closed until the alloted time and they park cars in arrival order. Not sure what supercars means to some folks but both times I've attended there's be a great variation of manufacturers and models.... anyway I enjoyed sharing the history of my 41 yrs old Carrera RS with many attendees ..... The other good points are its in the shade and you don't have to get up at zero dark thirty to get a slot
Not even cars and coffee? Puhh-lease. There was plenty to see. I would rather have spots filled in by mere sports cars than to have them sit empty. Also, I'm sure if it grows they can raise the bar, so to speak. I like the venue as well. More intimate than C&C. Very friendly atmosphere and not so much a zoo. Your RS was a gem. Can't wait to see what you bring next month
