    Hey guys,

has anyone gone from a 612 to a California? I decided to make the switch. Bought the car from FOLI and will pick it up on Tuesday. Those who may have made this switch, I would love to hear about your experiences, things you love about the Cali, things you miss about your 612 etc.

Will post pictures and report my own experiences next week! Till later,

I will be curious to hear about your experience. I had a 612 a few years ago. My transition was from a 612 to a 997TT to a 360 spider to a California. They are similar in many ways, different in many ways. The California is more refined with the DCT and other amenities
(my 614 was an '05). It feels more sporty although the 612 is NO slouch.

Will definitely keep you all posted. I drove the Cali many months ago when I was buying a used BMW M6 from FOLI that someone had traded in. In fact, that's how I got hooked into the Ferrari Brand. It did feel more sporty than the 612 I eventually bought. It will be interesting to drive it again and compare now that I know the 612 much more. I primarily went for the Cali now as I am looking for a convertible with the possibility of taking my kids along on short rides. I'll let you know how I make out.

I had a 08 612OTO. I think you cannot compare the two cars to each other. The 612 is the ultimate grand tourer. It's has room to put 2 adults in the back for long hauls. The V12 is enchanting to say the least. With the newer 612's and the chromatic sunroof, you do fell more open in the cockpit and it has all the newer electronics. The interior in the 612 is by far the most luxurious. The California on the other hand is a GREAT all around car, convertible plenty of power and great looks. It is more along the lines of the SL63/SL65 concept. I will have another 612 when the new body style comes out for sure but will also keep the California for its fun factor.

Some really good points. They are two very different cars. But both are GTs and can seat 4 if you have small kids so some significant similarities too. For me, it's one or the other (or one at a time anyway!). :) I dropped off the 612 and picked up the Cali today. Will post more details on my experiences this week!
