I have my 308 for sale on FerrariAds and on EBAY. In the event it does not sell at the close of EBAY auction I will take that as a sign to keep the car. So I will then buy some after market wheels. I was going to go with the 288 GTO style wheels, but contacted Nicksforza and found that he has a back order of about 6 months!

I found this other dealer on EBAY and he said that not only these wheels would fit, but I can run 19" wheels with 225/35/19 tires in the front and 295/30/19 in the rear:

For starters, 19" is a big difference from my current stock 14" wheel. Does anyone have 19" inch wheels on their car, or know if this will work?

IMO a 19" wheel on a 308 not only is overkill in the wannabe arena but also detrimental to performance in a big way. not to mention that those wheels in particular are TOO modern and will not help but hurt the look of the 308.

i think you are correct in wanting a 288 style wheel. i have a set of speedline 17" "288" style wheels on my car. they look amazing and most importantly they help the look of the car and look period correct.

Thanks! I agree. Since nicksforza.com is on back order. Where else can I pick up some speedline "288" style wheels?

I think the updated wheels and tires really improve the look and the driving experience. 19" may be a little big but I have 18" speedlines on my 328 an absolutely love them.

Just make sure all the offsets work and don't go crazy on the tires 295/30/19 is a bit of an overkill.

    I have 225 40 18 on fronts and 265/35/18 on rear.

Juat my opinion, make it like you want it and enjoy it.

Just keep the original tires/wheels for when you sell it as everyone's preference is different.

I may be really off base, but i thought i saw a lot of threads with negative comments about fit, service, offset, lugs and integrity and maybe weight regarding ferari "DESIGN" modular wheels. Do your homework here or take an expensive trip through grief and unhappyness.

I went from 14 inchers on my 77 to 360 18 inchers and am very happy, they are BBS, round, light and fit, (with a bit of work). Itoo am running 225/40/18 on the front but went to 255/35 on a narrowed rear rim.

BTW, NONE of these bigger wheels will fit in the spare compartment, so think twice and cary a lot of fix a flat, or lead a very clean life.

I could be all wrong here, but...

    all the best,
    chris

    Richard,

Don't do it !! :( Six months after you get over "buying something for your car", I'll bet you be looking, as the seller, for another buyer on ebay to take those same wheels off your hands - - at a loss. Wait for Nick to get the 288 16" or even the F40 17" wheels. Those, you won't try to sell later on.

You're just suffering a case of impatience and that can make you (us) pull the trigger before we should which usually ends up in costly regret. Chill, man. I'm betting you'll be happy that you did.

But of course, that's just my opinion based on your first post.

    Best of luck,

    Hank

Hank, thanks to you and fellow chat-members, I am holding off on that purchase. First and foremost, 19" wheels is a significant size difference!

If my car does not sell, then, yes, I will hold off for the 288 GTO style wheels; or if I can find something that looks similar to chat-member RIZZO308.
