    A brother of a longtime client of our agency asked me for a quote thru Hartford specifically. I can't do auto insurance thru anyone but Farmers. Wouldn't normally accommodate a request like this, but his sister has been with us a long time.

    Anyone have experience w/ them?

    Dave;
    I have my homeowner's ins. and 1 car insured through hartford. They are pretty reasonable and I have had to make 1 claim (homeowner) and they "*****ed" but they paid off. They absolutely, positively do NOT insure Ferrari's. The agent's company is Personal Insurance Professionals

    Thanks for the info Don. I don't know why he wanted a Hartford quote so badly...

    Also, sorry I didn't have a chance to meet you on Monday... I was the guy from the other end of the table, running out of there in a big hurry.

    I had asked the waiter for my check ten minutes before I had to leave for an appointment... took him a solid 20 minutes to give it to me, after I reminded him about 6 times. agghh. :(

    (shameless plug ;) )

    After reading my own first post again, I better clarify... I write "normal, daily use" car insurance only thru Farmers, but for Classic/Exotic/Collector/Racecar/Showcar etc etc etc, I have the ability to write with Hagerty, Leland West, JC Taylor, and Parish Heacock.

    Dave, I remember your hasty retreat on Monday and basically just had to wave adios. I know that you write classic ins. do the companies that you use have mileage plans? I am curious because I currently list my Cars with Classic Ins out if Indy. I am not married to them and would actually prefer to do do business with a local gent.If you can give me a call do so at my office 972.247.3653. Hope to meet you properly in the near future.

    FYI - all 6 of our vehicles are with Progressive and there's NO limit on the amount of driving on the F-car - it's treated just like our Chevy trucks and MB's.

    Carol;
    Sounds like a deal to me. I would probably never exceed the mileage plans that I am on, but it would be nice to have the vehicles insured such that is not hanging over your head. Can you give me the name of the agent that you use. Thanks

    Right now I'm working on an article that will help everybody understand the differences between the classic auto insurance policies and the standard auto insurance policies. It's a complex issue, and I want to explain it in the simplest way that I can, so that everyone has a good understanding of the situation. I'll post it up here as soon as I'm done refining it. :)
