I am going to buy a 43' houseboat next week and keep it on Lake Mead, thought I would do the Miami Vice thing. Any tips or suggestions? Don't know how to drive one or any boat this big, its a dual outboard, figure its like a big Ferrari only its in the water, it has the usual equipment, bedroom, stove, fridge etc.
Yeah thought of that, don't think he would live long in the desert. Probably skip the pastel suit also unless they come back in fashion as well.
Take plenty of time learning to operate the boat. They are steered more by the engines then by the wheel. You dont want to have to learn to control it when it gets windy and you have to put it into the slip, or hook up to the gas dock. Make sure you know where fuel goes, where fresh water goes, and how to pump out the heads. Confusion on any of these can lead to huge headaches and bills. Be careful with children, or anyone for that matter, swimming behind the boat. CO can build up under the swim platform from the generator, and many kids have drowned this way. Thats all for today from Houseboat 101. Have a great time. You will be sure to make memories you will never forget!
