    If you have a makarov, did yours come with a long leather 'leash' that loops one one end and has a ring on the other. The loop is fastened by 2 small circlular pins.

    If you have it or know someone who does, can I buy it? I used mine as a keychain and I broke mine. I have no idea where to get a replacement.

    Nothing, I bought it a few years ago because it was cheap. Only reason I didn't regret it was because I loved that leash thing.

    Now, I just want the leash that came with it but don't want to buy another Mak just for it!

    We use them in the USMC. It is to keep the weapon near you and retrievable after an explosion or a time you need to move fast and need both hands for "something" else.

    its called a lanyard. started out bieng used by calvary way back when and later by some cowboys. very common on military weapons. beretta and taurus both have them as some military contracts require them. early colt 1911's had one. my 1911 cira 1920 something has a lanyard hole.

    i have had several MAK'S they are fine little fun guns, but even the converted ones to .380 are weak. 9x18mmMAK is just a weak round. as far as quality cheap carry guns go, the CZ50 /CZ70 .32 "PPK/s" clone is a great cheap carry gun, though .32 auto is weak also.

    I never did understand their switch to such a weak round after their (IMHO) amazing 7.62x25mm that was in the Tokarev handguns.

    When I had my FFL I bought two of those in .380ACP. Felt dirty and cheap having them.
