Hello all, I called Denver Ferrari and they said the guys on this chat are the coolest and might be able to help. I am a wedding planner in Boulder and the bride's wish for the groom is to be able to drive a Maranello from the wedding to the reception. He is 36 and very responsible...one day soon will have his own Maranello. There is some money involved...not so much a car payment as it is a tank of VP racing fuel and a really nice dinner. Please let me know if you have some advice. The date is the 29th of July and the time would be around 6:30pm. We would ask that you meet us in Sunshine canyon, and then either ride along or drive (with me) to the reception in Boulder. If the doesn't work for you but this is a possibility on a different day we would love to have the opportunity and would be more then willing to meet you at a place that works with your schedule. Thanks so much!!!

How is it that the time and date are flexible? Are you going to move the date of the wedding? Just curious.

I don't mean to be the party-pooper, but if anyone ever considers renting their Ferrari out, please call your insurance company first!!!!! You may not be covered if the "customer" wrecks (or steals!) your car, and you may be personally liable for what the "customer" does in your car. It's not the same as loaning your car to a friend.
...OK, I feel better now. -m

No, the date of the wedding won't change, as I said, if it's a possibility to make this happen the bride would be more then happy for the groom to realize his gift on a different day. I understand the thoughts about insurance, this is why I have suggested that the owner ride along. The guys a Denver Ferrari suggested that because there are no exotic car rentals in Denver some owners are willing to let people rent theirs for these types of things. As for what "the customer" might "do", I'm sure it won't be what you're thinking. He's just a cool guy who likes the same cars you like. I appreciate all your help and look forward to more ideas that might make this a possibility. Best!

Oops, sorry, didn't mean to imply that you or your client would do anything malicious. I'm just saying that there's a distinction between loaning a car to someone - personal use, and renting it out for money - business use. Some auto insurance policies have a provision for limited business use, but with a Ferrari 550, you better be sure you're covered.
You're right that there are very generous Ferrari owners out there who love to see people take such pleasure in the marque. I have given rides and had rides given to me for that reason. I hope that your client gets to do this someday. -m
