    Post some photos

Mine will be redone and I’m debating on doing contrasting piping.

What color were you going to go with and are you just talking about the piping on the seats or the whole interior?

When I was looking for another QV I passed on two very nice cars because of the piping on the seats.. red w/tan hides .. Red piping on black look terrific, IMHO!

Here's mine, not the best angle though, just a picture I had already. Crema leather and red carpet. I like the look in most of the cars I've seen with it, adds a little flair to the seats without being flashy.

Very nice. Mine are all tan now and i was thinking of maybe a darker tan or brown piping that matched the carpet. Like the red carpet red piping above.

    Thoughts?

Was piping originally available from the factory? I really like the look of red piping on black!

I have only seen one original 308 with factory different color piping and it was an early 308 gt4

Yes, it was a factory option, and agreed, I think red piping on black looks fantastic. Though I've only seen red as a contrasting color so far, I would be interested to know what color configurations were available over the years...

Agreed, I would also like to know if they are available for purchase from anyone today.

Several years ago I bought a tan interior leather re-do kit from GAHH, and I was undecided as to what to do with the piping and stitching. I ultimately decided on black piping with tan stitching (top picture shows the end result) as I wanted to visually tie the piping color back to the black center console color.

This was originally a black interior car, and I replaced only the seat covers and upper door panels with tan, intentionally keeping the black OEM console, carpet, and lower door panel color, so to end up with a unique two-tone look (the late 308 OEM tan interiors just contain too much of the same tan color for my taste)

In order to help me decide this piping / stitching color detail issue prior to my ordering the kit, my daughter photoshopped a picture of somebody’s QV interior, so to show black piping and tan stitching (second picture) and then again with black piping and black stitching (third picture).

Me, I preferred the third picture’s black stitching look at the time, but I was advised against this by other members of my family who did not like this effect - they thought that this color made the stitching look “dirty” and that it drew too much attention to itself.

I appreciate that this black piping and the resulting two-tone appearance is a deviation from OEM and that purists may cringe at my selection choices. But I have received a significant number of unsolicited compliments from other 308 owners at car shows and such, and I have no regrets whatsoever concerning my selections, now 3-1/2 years later.

Mine is exactly the same as #7, including the red carpets.

I really like that look. Tan w/black piping is nice also.

My '83 GTS is also red/tan, nowhere near in need of new seat upholstery. Wish I could justify it, but plenty of other places for $3K.

When the leather in my '83 308 GTS QV gave out I had the seats redone in tan with blue piping and blue stitching. It is really a nice look.
