I have had couple of them but cant remember the vins. Can you provide at least the year, color and the model? maybe mileage? I'll try to see if it passed thru my hands. Thanks
It's a 1997 F355 Spider, first came up for sale at Shelton in 1999: Silver with Bordeaux leather, 17,400 miles, for sale again in 2000. Then it popped up on eBay, 06 June 2009, in Boca Raton: Grigio Titanio with Bordeaux, 35,681 miles, $49,888. Is it for sale now? Are you considering buying it?
I am currently making a deal on it, it does need major service and few small things are broken, a/c, heater, top is a bit sticky and a few other things. The car is not 100 points - or even close but not as rough as I have seen - a big big issue is the mileage shows a 15K discrepancy... currently shows 36K but carfax says it once went from 38 to 23...
You have to wonder about Car Fax. My Z4 CF says the car had 44.9k on it when I had it serviced in Oct of 2010 in CT (correct). Then it shows it had 22.5k on it in Dec of 2010 when serviced in NH. Problem is, in Dec 2010 the car was in winter storage in my garage next to my 308 and has never been in NH since I owned it. Go figure.
Car fax is only as accurate as the person(s) supplying the information. When my F355 was sold as a used car for the first time back in 1999 the selling dealer listed the mileage as 0001 (default milage on their system I suppose) on the selling documents. The actual milage was around 2,400 verified by all other service documentation directly before and after that sale. Guess what? Because a careless lazy dealer didn't key in the correct mileage on the sales documents the car permenently has a "CA Brand - Mileage" on the title. Was the milege rolled back? No, but that isn't what a carfax or title says. So my point is.... can you tell if the milage was actually rolled back by other milage reports on the carfax OR was there possibly a mistake made on one mileage reporting event?
