Did a search, but all the pics are gone. I've been offered a deal on a set of 19" LM's and am ready to go, just want to see what they will look like on the car.

Stephen, here you go. I was thinking the same thing when I had a 550. Beautiful wheel and pretty light as well.
I have another somewhere in here of a red car. Will post if I can find it. John

Thanks alot, have you got a bigger pic of this one you could email me?
I found other wheels that I think look better, but they are a lot heavier than the standard wheels, so BBS looks like the way to go.

Thanks for that, I asked my son to creat a few more pics with less rear offset on the rear wheels. One thing I can't stand on most 550/575's is the fit of the rear wheel and guard. The standard wheel sits over 2" inside the the outside edge of the guard. The std BBS fitment is a little better, but only half way there IMO. I run a 30mm rear wheel spacer on my car currently taking offset to almost zero, the BBS is a 28mm rear offset from memory.
If you look at a pic of the Novitec 575, the rear offset is much less (wheel further out) than the standard BBS.

interesting on the offset. with the before-and-afters i concur that the existing setback is too high, but think a zero offset is excessive - it seems to interfere with the lines of the car - the wheel was clearly designed as a necessity moreso than a design element, and by pulling it out so far, you effectively negate that - and imo it doesn't quite work.

    one boy's opinion....

Sorry, thats all I have. I have Fikse profil wheels on another car, very similar design and even lighter than the bbs. You can get them with exposed bolts or hidden(inside). If I remember correctly they were 2.3 (fr)and 3# (rear)lighter per wheel in 18" sizes.

Are you sure those on the red/black 550 are BBS ? they look like gemballas or cargraphics ?

Actually, I am almost positive the red car is bbs/lm. After posting the tit. car pic, I was thinking those wheels looked like cargraphic!

Agree, on closer inspection the modified pic is running -25mm offset, should have looked closer, the edge of the tyre is outside of the guard!

Just be warned - futzing with the offset will increase loads on the wheel hub and bolts, etc.

It will so change the dynamics of the car - of course, you're the master of disaster with tuning that bit, right? :D ;)

Yes, it is worth mentioning that I run rear springs approx 10% stiffer than FHP to compensate.

Is the North-America spec FHP different from the rest of the world? I recall somethign to that effect as well.

No. For some reason Ferrari, in their infinite wisdom shares suspension spec between Canada Australia and USA. FWIW 575/550 FHP is identical (same part #'s except for suspension ECU.

Sorry, for clarification of my above post, FHP is the same in all markets, standard suspension is different between Euro and CDN/USA/AUS

  20. I dont particularly care for these wheels on cars but on the 575 and E39 M5 they look perfect. Hands down one of my favorite wheels besides for the HRE 545R's...

More importantly they are each 3kg (almost 7lbs) lighter than the factory magnesium rims. (I have a spare magnesium rim from the recall to compare them against.)

Stephen: thanks for the clarification on FHP / suspension.

I hate to admit it, but I think the black wheels are extremely hot. And I'm really not a fan of black-centered wheels.

Either way, hard to argue! Just don't do any chrome.

Glad to help Dan. I like the black too, but I'm still not convinced that the LM doesn't shout boy racer. I wish there was a light weight factory 575 look 19" rim. The LM's are an extremely good deal price wise though.

This is the perpetual maranello dilemma. The stock look, esp on the 575 modulars, is very sharp. The problem is that they cost an outrageous amount and they weigh far too much.

You could have custom wheels made (I recall seeing a manufacturer in OZ that did some BEAUTIFUL wheels, I'll have to dig up the info) - but I'm not sure how much lee-way you have there.

For a go-ready, known to be light solution, the BBS is hard to beat.
