Hi Johnny, You say it's not the Kyosho F40 but I'm not aware of anyone else that did this car in a die cast 1/12th scale. Can you give us anymore details? What kind of a box did it come in and, what if any markings are on the model? What is different about the model that makes you think it's not Kyosho?
Johnny, show us some pix of the model you received. As Noel stated, there arent any other 1:12 diecast versions in existance. Fujimi has a plastic kit which requires assembly, but thats abt it in this scale and material.
If you look under the car, you should find "1:12 Ferrari F40" on the driver's side and "Kyosho Made in China" on the Passenger's side.
the bottom of the model says this 1/12 ferrari f-40 (with a circled) j nothing on it says kyosho and I have taken it apart looking for some kind of manufaturer writing I will have to take some pictures of it so you guys can see what it looks like, maybe it is a koyosho but its not as detailed as I thought it should be with these big cash ones that I have seen.. anyway ill get some pics up asap! johnny
It sounds like you are the new owner of a 1/18 scale F40, what are the measurements? No other manufacturer has ever made a 1/12 F40, so yours has to be 1/18 in my opinion. Stephane Scaledetails
Its a 1/12 scale here are the pictures Ive posted links so you can see them in full size. anyone want to venture as to the manufacture? It is not like the kyosho pictured above at least not the name on the bottom I had to tear it apart to get to the castings on this car, they are on the underbody?? anyway please help me on this is is junk was I scamed also some parts are broken if you know what it is know where I can get parts? Im talking to the seller now about refunding my cash but it was sent from Germany and via the mail seller says they insured for 500 euros and that I have to do a claim here in the states id love to find a postal worker who can read german I see nothing on the package that hnts at being insurance paper work any sugesions? http://temp.corvetteforum.net/bss/phrogs//powdercoating/cars_and_stufffpartszr1_003.jpg http://temp.corvetteforum.net/bss/phrogs//powdercoating/cars_and_stufffpartszr1_004.jpg http://temp.corvetteforum.net/bss/phrogs//powdercoating/cars_and_stufffpartszr1_005.jpg http://temp.corvetteforum.net/bss/phrogs//powdercoating/cars_and_stufffpartszr1_006.jpg http://temp.corvetteforum.net/bss/phrogs//powdercoating/cars_and_stufffpartszr1_007.jpg http://temp.corvetteforum.net/bss/phrogs//powdercoating/cars_and_stufffpartszr1_008.jpg http://temp.corvetteforum.net/bss/phrogs//powdercoating/cars_and_stufffpartszr1_009.jpg http://temp.corvetteforum.net/bss/phrogs//powdercoating/cars_and_stufffpartszr1_010.jpg
yeah I got burned!!! and now that it took forever to get it from germany I cant make a claim on ebay? jp
There you go... I wasnt aware that Fujimi offered a white metal kit. A long time ago, I read that the Kyosho 1:12 was based off the original Fujimi molds, but I never compared/confirmed that rumor. Not to kick you while youre down, but your model dsnt approach the level of detail which the Kyosho achieves IMHO.
Yup, Definitely not the Kyosho F40 and it appears to be the Fujimi but, if it is the Fujimi F40, the scale is 1/16th, not 1/12th. Unfortunately, Greg is also right, it doesn't come close to the quality or detail of the Kyosho model. I hope this story has a happy ending and you're able to resolve it with the seller. Wish you the best,
thanks for the kicks guys right in the ribs! haha Im dealing with ebay and the seller, I didnt have real detailed pictures but I guess that Ill say I learned a good leson in buy from overseas sellers. Im not going to say what I paid but it was not for the same price as a kyosho no where near this car was missing the front wheel and I thought I could pick up a broken one for cheap and fix it and still have one... but now the seller says they said kyosho but werent sure if it was.... Oh Its more my fault than anything so whats a good fujimi F40 worth .10 cents??
Here is a 1:12 Revell F40 http://www.rakuten.co.jp/bremen2/498352/498995/594515/587071/#555793anyone knows if this is a metal kit? or maybe the same kit as the Fujimi?
I dont know about that kit but the one I have is metal and was not a build model as I can tell it was factory built.
Fujimi is a nice kit. Lot more detail them what you have. An unbuilt Fujimi kit runs about $400 in red. Black version is more. Sure it's metal? Monogram & Revell both did 1:12 plastic kits. Sorry you got burned. Seller probably knew exactly what they were selling. Not like the Kyosho issue has been around a long time.
Yes im sure its metal, I havent been able to find anything on the internet that has anything about the fujimi kit but your saying that mine isnt as detail as the fujmi kit? well they all kinda look similar and it makes sence that it could be a fujimi kit. Where would I find something with pictures of one of there kits?
