There is an article about Luca di Montezemolo in there and he rips on the 348. It was rather depressing. Birdman
Ferrari should have spent more time perfecting the 348 before it went into production. I think that's what he's saying. I don't have a problem with that, I think he's correct. The 348 DOES have a number of faults. I haven't seen this particular article, but I know he has been quoted as saying that "Ferrari musn't ever make a mistake like the 348 again." Hey, they survived just fine, and they went on to produce finer cars. Personally, I don't want one of their finer cars, I'm happy with my 348.
I read that article as well...............he basically ripped Ferrari and the 348 a new one. He mentioned that when he joined Ferrari he acquired a 348 and got smoked by a Fiat Strada and a minivan of some sort.
Not a minivan, just a Fiat, but he admitted it was a performance version of the Fiat. Nonetheless, he basically felt the 348 was not fast enough for Ferrari's image. I'll bet it looked a heck of a lot cooler than the stupid Fiat though! Birdman
