Agree totally! This can be very frustrating and disturbing. Especially when you are on it!

If you put your phone in do not disturb mode while plugged in I think you'll achieve the result you're looking for.

Hello guys, In my workshop there is a Ferrari 296gts with complaints that the power window does not work when the roof/spider is operated and the power window cannot function up or down automatically. has anyone experienced the same thing?
BTW, I did the diagnosis with Leonardo Scan tools, I found no problems or errors in the Nodo Capote and window lifter module

I am having problems with the exhaust valves and particulate filters on my Ferrari 296 GTS. The valve doesn’t open at 4,500 RPM, and a warning with a turtle symbol appears. It took Ferrari five weeks to send the replacement part because the company practically did nothing in August. Outrageous. In the meantime, I know at least four Ferrari dealers and numerous GTS drivers who have the same issue.

The way Ferrari handles cars that break down is shocking. No replacement parts were sent out throughout August and then in September, orders were processed slowly.

Ferrari has had a cynical approach with its customers for a while now; I wonder when it will backfire.

I agree. But its the same with Le Club 55 in Saint Tropez. (Pampelonne Beach) As long as so many people come, they will not change the menu and raise the service. So I think this will take minimum 10 years.

You can add me to the list here in California, same issue I think. They have to swap out the entire exhaust system to get to the sensor that's the issue, as Ferrari does not have a separate part for just the item that needs replacement. I bet that's going to change quick.

EDIT - it's a stuck exhaust valve. Requires replacement of both mufflers, and is apparently an issue on the GTS for some cars. Known issue and sounds like bad batch of parts from a supplier.

    Hi all,

one various forums as well as groups outside FerrariChat, my approach has been to always e-mail my dealer as well as his bosses, most importantly it would be to copy them in but address concerns to Ferrari. I have raised my several issues with them, let’s see what the outcome is. Attached are the contacts which may be useful. Thanks

Maranello is the only city in the world with „one way phone lines“ You can call and ask. But you will never get any answer.

A couple of weeks ago driving home from delivery that car was like a Christmas tree  I got all possible error messages displayed which most of them were gone after restarting but one remained to go see the dealer (Engine control system failure. Go to dealer).

Visited the dealer the following day, they couldn't find anything so they erased the remaining error message.

Now, all of a sudden it is impossible to get the car into eDrive. Not a mode that I really need on the car but I wanted to try it out in a traffic jam.

If it goes on like this, I start to understand why so many are on sale today :(

All my Ferraris, like the F8, GTB, or GTS, had a problem. But also my Audi A8 or the Seat Cupra. The reason so many are being sold is because: (my opinion)

    • Many people can no longer afford the car due to the economic situation.
    • They are afraid of a loss in value.
    • Many speculators ordered cars in 2022 just to make a profit.
    • Car dealers ordered them to sell at a high profit.
    • People ordered, but can no longer get leasing or financing with 8 % interest rates.
The economic situation in Europe is difficult, especially in Germany and England. Things are going better in France and Italy.

I admit, the car has problems. Others do too. However, the reason so many are being sold isn’t because of the car itself. Even a Maserati MC20 is being sold in Germany for 190,000, and McLaren is losing massively. Same like the Porsche Boxster Spyder RS or GT3 RS.

Mine was delivered with a bad camshaft in the block. Over 82 days in service. Very disappointed how this played out… I asked politely a dozen times if we could talk about settling up on it to cover payments and loss of use - even writing in my messages I feel like they’re putting me off to run the game clock until the new engine is installed. FNA and dealer putting it on the other to handle me. They would not put a damn thing in writing, and calls were merely, “Just want to see how you’re doing / we want to get your car back ASAP” level of talk while I kept saying I want to see numbers or an incentive offer or something to make up for a massive down payment and essentially no time with the car functioning properly.

I began the buyback process because no one would negotiate in good faith.

This whole ordeal has been catastrophic to my sense of identity as a Ferrari aficionado and repeat customer.

So sad to hear of your experience with FNA/dealer. Things do go wrong in any consumer industry it is how the brand recovers that sets a brand apart.

Unfortunately in this instance it sets the brand back and they will lose a loyal customer and many others I would think .

I do hope there is some restitution for you .

Thank you, yes it has been stressful and consuming too much of my limited personal time.

I’ll say this: everyone that I’ve dealt with has been extremely nice, pleasant and saying supportive things. But they ignore the specific words I’m saying and typing back. And I wanted to have the difficult conversations about the future of the car with someone who made decisions. Everyone kept deferring to other managers and lacked authority. Ultimately our law is clear that they failed to make repairs in time and I am entitled to a refund - that deadline passed more than 6 weeks ago.

When I let off the accelerator, I hear a tweety bird noise :/

Took it to the service center and they said it’s normal and also to keep an eye out for Corso Pilota ‍♂️

    Problems ?

Nope because I did NOT buy an electric hybrid Ferrari. You have to enjoy being let down if you think Ferrari is a master of electronics and super faithful to believe they have fixed up their issues with the Hybrids.

Firstly did the hybrid battery have enough charge/range to enable you to select eDrive – say 20% plus.

If less – then charge it up by driving in quali mode or use the charger.
If it did – check the 12v battery level and make sure it is 12.5v or higher on the MyFerrari app.

If the 12v is "good" – take it back to the dealer.
If the 12v is low – charge it up via the main charger and check the level once charged

If it is still sitting around 12v think about a 12v tickle charger to bring it up to 12.5v+

This is based on my experience with my 296GTS having a completely flat Hybrid and 12v (mains cut in the garage whilst charging) and going through everything with the recovery and garage mechanics. Then, a few months ago, whilst parked in another country seeing the 12V drop to 11.5 and seeing every warning light come up and the car would not start. I used a friend's NOCO GB70 to trickle charge for 90 minutes and the car started up perfectly and today the 12v sits at 13.9v.

I think the NOCO trickle charge understands the 12v battery chemistry better than the Ferrari charging system does.

Everything else you explained is perfect. But I had to learn from Ferrari that you should never charge the 12 volt battery. If you do, all cables must be removed. That would be my tip. What I also learned. If your system ist down, load the 12 volt battery as much as possible. And then connect again with the car. This helps sometimes to connect the hybrid system again with the 12 volt battery.

But what you have written is a very wise and helpfull content

I was told that and stopped carrying around my own NOCO charger – luckily a friend had a NOCO with them for their ROMA. We also had a Ferrari trained mechanic in the convey who suggested it would be ok.

Given the choice between having the car repatriated or trickle charging I choose the latter and the 12v battery has been the better for it since.

    YMMV.

I drove my 296 GTB through some curvy roads in a spirited manner for about thirty minutes, after which smoke was coming from the rear wheel wells with the smell of burning plastic. My guess is that the backing plate on the rear pads melted. There is no way a Ferrari should be so fragile. Is the car outfitted with the wrong pads, and/or is there too much rear brake bias programmed into the brake by wire system?
