I was hoping to coordinate schedules with the FOC to avoid overlapping on major events, but I can't seem to get in touch with them. Is there anyone here that's a part of that organization, or has heard from them recently?

    Thanks

Thanks. I was also hoping that someone here was a member of the FOC and would be willing to act as a bridge between the groups. Anyone?

I have been contacted by them regarding membership........

I want to know if their nametag is better than the FCA one.......I've had problems with my FCA engraved nametag so I'm witholding FOC membership until this issue is clarified...........

I don't think they have any overlapping members in Houston.......Jeremey Lawrence (Fchatter) is handling things here.......

Maybe I'm wrong, but in the past it has seemed they wait until our calendar is out and they plan events on purpose to overlap.

Either way, I don't think it is something we should worry about.

    THAT's pretty passive aggressive, IMO.......

Would your Ferrari still operate properly with BOTH stickers attached??????

Can the FOC make a nice name tag with $175.00US????

THESE are the burning issues! LOL!

I'm not worried about it. If there's extra Ferrari events around, I want to know about them so that I can participate :D

I hear from Sam bi-monthly, and their last event was a Bob's night in December. I didn't renew so I may not hear more, but will post when I do.
I did one fun run with them in September and there were about 6-7 cars there, and it was a good event.

    Thank you Phil.

Please understand that I'm not attacking the FOC, I'm just curious what's happening with them.

I was a member of the FOC until Al DeLauro became FCA President of our region and was enthusiastic about getting things going. He has been very successful. About that time the FOC Regional President (A.J.) stopped working at the San Antonio dealership and the FOC kinda fell apart. Dave and I moved our regions over from the FOC. Actually, Dave's name is still on the national website for Texas and that was 4 years ago! :D http://www.ferrariownersclub.org/texas_contacts.htm

I will rejoin the FOC if they become more active in our area and Sam clears up a few things with me...

    1) Why he wanted to start the FOC instead of stepping up to help lead the FCA? I thought Sam was a really nice guy and he was active in our chapter, he never ever expressed any concerns or gave me any feedback. I heard through others he said our chapter was too "cliquey". Well, many of us are really good friends with each other and that has spread into relationships outside of the club. Heck, two club members met at a FCA event and are now getting married! When our chapter first got started hardly any of us knew each other beforehand, all those personal relationships were formed over time by being involved with the club. I know Sam is a little shy, but I thought he was always welcomed warmly. A better explanation would be if Sam had a relationship with JRV when in Houston. Speedy, you know better than anyone what the result of that is. ;)

    2) That they're not purposely trying to schedule events on top of ours. No big deal, but I'm not going to work with the FOC unless they work with us. Our 2004 Poker Run had 30 Ferraris, their rally on the same day had 5 or 6? I'm not a lawyer or anything, but seems like the smart thing to do would be to coordinate schedules so we both can have 35 cars turn out. Our schedule was out well before their rally. I can only believe at this point they do it on purpose.

All of this may not be an issue at all and a big misunderstanding, but when the leader of the FOC won't return emails from various people, that seems like a problem to me. Hope I'm wrong.

FCA DFW has over 25 events planned for 2005. We get over 30 Ferraris to our big events like the Poker Run and Car Show. We get 15-20 Ferraris and upwards of 50 people to our minor events. I think this is the strongest any Ferrari club in the DFW area has been ever. We owe it to the great people and friendships. People want to be involved, because we have fun and enjoy ourselves. That is the entire purpose of the club, isn't it?

Me too and although it sounds like my post is attacking them, I'm just trying to get answers. I've sent a couple polite emails to Sam trying to open the communication without success.

LOL! It's about INCLUSIVENESS here as well.......

I'll see if Jeremey has any schedule info....

No marraiges here...but a bud of mine is running with a member of the FCA group and says his babe is HOT! She knew the FFQC gang ,as we compared notes......

I told him to be careful, and always wear his seat belt.........
