Air Bag cover was no big deal. Not perfect, but nice car and color. Good dealer from my knowledge. It sold pretty quick. I like it! Great car

The owner contacted me earlier this year and asked if I was interested or could help him value the car. It appears to be a nice car and someone added 98/99 fenders with OEM shields. Owner had it FS a few months ago on Autotrader. He recently moved to LA and consigned with CNC.

 

FYI, I know this car as I'm the buyer from CNC. It had no red issues, but a few orange, and yellow on my risk chart. Drove it back from LA to SF without TOO much trouble (Driver headlight was missing a screw and was flopping around, REALLY sticky throttle from idle/vacuum). And other than me being cursed and it getting a flat that turned into a blowout on I280 last night, I'm very happy.

 

Bummer. I hope the blow out didn't cause any serious damage..

Found a screw in the tire, so theory is that that caused a leak which cause me to run on low pressure. It felt squirmy and I'm unfamiliar with the car so I chalked that up to suspension maintenance that I would need to look at, but then the inner wall of the tire let go and separated completely. Got off the highway in 1/4 mile (left lane on 4 lane highway), but the sidewall stayed connected to the rim.

It looked like zero damage to rim or inner wheel well, but I do have some minor scratching of paint around the fender. Luckily I had a spare at home from a F430 I used to have and it's a direct swap. Will take care of that and all the maintenance issues in one shot in the next few weeks... then this thing will be beautiful, steady, and confident!

 

What is the dial on the center console below the mirror controls? Something for a radar detector? Is whatever it is factory? My '98 is blank there.

 

Sub woofer control???

I have a three way toggle switch in that spot to control the top override function and manually operate the top without pulling the e-switch out.

 

Typically a K40 -radar control.

Where did they put the red LEDs?

You might also have laser detection. Look for a sensor up front that looks like this...

The LED's in my car are in the instrument cluster (same place as the other lights and in the corners where they can't be seen unless on)
