I want to see what codes may be stored on the car. It's a 98 F1 Germany delivered car.

Been getting a flashing SDL and goes into limp mode.

I tried disconnecting the battery and then having it relearn to see if it cleared but I take it out after its warmed up I hit the highway and I get up to about 80 mph SDL starts flashing (had it go into full on and that's when it went into limp mode) tried charging the battery but after a drive Its holding enough of a charge but I can always hook up the trickle charger and it needs a charge. (It seems a low or dying battery can reak havoc on these cars)

Another sign is the dash lights dining when I shift into neutral before starting the car more troubleshooting needed I hate throwing parts at a car and guessing.

    Anyway possible bad battery

I would like to see what's causing this SDL I'm assuming a catylitic converter but I would also like to learn to pull the codes as well.

Problem is being a euro car it's a bit more complicated to do this and I should have a SD1 and would love one but whatever I don't have one.

I think I have the procedure down to get the codes without the sd1. I figure it's a long shot but someone may have done it here.

I know I have a the pin connected behind the passenger seat and making leader to plug into that plug and then Hook it to my obd reader it's a scan gauge II this is where I get a little foggy if it will work or not.

Also if there is a procedure here already I couldn't find it.

Well with The scanguage II I get no codes I don't think its communicating.

But I can get the gauges to read on this generic code reader. So its working partially just not giving up any codes.

on my euro spec M5.2 car, no problem at all to read the OBD2 codes with OBD2 reader.

don't remember if the signal was pin 1 or 2 on your 3 pin connector but it should normally work also in your case.

You wont always see OBD codes related to the SDL. You don't need the OBD to diagnose your SDL problems.

The best way to troubleshoot your SDL issue is to tap the outputs of the SDECU and monitor the voltages being sent to the main ECU and troubleshoot from there.

If not a true overheated cat, then bad TC or bad SDECU or both.

Right on, I will have to do that then.

I'll get back to it after I get done throwing primer on my Corvette today.
