Just curious if anyone here gives there F-CAR A NAME?
I was tempted to call mine "Lorenzo" (in honor of Bandini) but a 328 really deserves a woman's name, and I couldn't pick one that really fit, so I passed. Instead, in honor of my alma mater, I call it the "Gatorrari".
Well, she isn't a Ferrari or any sports car for that matter, but my civic is affectionately known as Stephanie. Just couldn't get over this girl.
That's a bit like the guy who named his Mustang "Sally". (Anyone remember the Wilson Pickett song?) I have a Civic SI that I call the "Gatormobile" since the blue color is similar to that used by the Florida Gators.
Boxer is the beast from the east, even though it came from arizona, wife calls it the ridiculous car that doesnt actualy go anywhere, technicaly true since its used for driving enjoyment not transport.
None of my 4 currently owned sports cars have names. However, I 'm tempted to call my new black on black 328 Ferrari, "Black Beauty" after the horse in the movie (s). I think it fits.
'Rosie'...just a word combination of something to do with a red rose and Testarossa I suppose. It's definitely a male ritual passed down though, since the old man called his 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 'Nelly Belle', the name of a horse he once owned...
Funny you should mention that...I have been unable to get over a girl of the same name for almost 10 years now. Yes I got help, no it didn't work But if I had an Fcar I wouldn't name it. Ciao Andrew
My TT is called Jimmy, and here is the plate on order, that should be here in 11 more days (if the CA DMV's word is to be believed). Yes my car has a dual personality. Well its boosted, so before the boost kicks in, its called Jimmy, and after the boost, its not Jimmy. Hopefully the metaphor is not lost on anyone. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Naming seems to be in vogue in the MB fraternity and has carried over here. So.... MB C320 Coupe - Citron Green = Kermit (wifes) MB SLK 350 -Caspian Blue = Kaspar (ours) Mondial t - Rossa Corsa = Sophia (mine)
When I first bought my (black/tan) 328, I was going to call it "Black Rain" ... ... because of all the oil leaks. But the first major service cleared that up. When I had two Alfas, they were "the Spider" and "the GTV-6". Now "the Spider" is just "the Alfa", the EVO is "the EVO", and the Ferrari is "the 328" ... because "the Ferrari" sounds like I'm bragging. (Besides, it's just an old Fiat.) Anyone else have a "theme song" for their car? Originally, the 328's was the Doors' "Love Her Madly" ("... don't you love her as she drips oil on the floor / like she did 1000 miles before.") Once I started digging into the CIS, it's more like "Weird Science". (It's alive! Bwa-ha-ha-ha!) The EVO's theme song is the ad jingle for "Rice-A-Roni".
"Danger Zone" Kenny Loggins "you'll never say hello to you untill you get on the red line overload You'll never know what you can do untill you get it up as high as you can go"
I have worked hard all my life. I bought out both ex wives and kept the real estate. I used to try to spend my money on things that had value. At 49 years old I took my first real vacation last month..... Rick
