Anyone in Blowing Rock???

Just came back from Blowing Rock a couple of days ago. Took the family skiing/snowboarding.

What slopes did you guys hit? This has been a pretty laughable winter so far.

 

We stayed right at the top of Appal. Ski mountain. That was a joke. Even my 8 yearold laughed at it.
We went to Sugar the rest of the time and between the crowds and the constant snow blowing it wasn't too much fun. It snowed all day Tuesday and they were still running the snow guns all day and night. Could hardly see where we were going.

Too expensive for what we got IMO.

Yeah, I hope we get some natural stuff soon.

The one place we didn't try.
Either way it was fun to be away from the shop for a while while enjoying my wonderful family. I tried to teach my 6 yearold Abby to ski but just like her mom she didn't like the cold stuff. From then on it was just my 16 and 8 yearold son. They hung in there fine.

My wife and I have tried to go to twigs but we just cant breathe in that smoke filled bar. Its just too much. I know its tabacco country but i sure wish the law would pass soon like it did in florida. It was so nice to go out and enjoy ourselves without choking on the smoke and coming home reeking of it. The only thing you would have to do is bear the gauntlet of smokers outside as you would walk inside places.
