Hello all- I'm hopeful so one in Fchat land may be able to offer me some help. I'm looking at a car in Florida. It's a titanium 360 ( VIN # ZZFYT53AX40136302). The dealership is called Specialized Motors (in Ft. Lauderdale) and the owner/principal's name in Anthony Cipriani. Anyone out there have any info on the car, the dealer, or the shop. Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance. Best

    Mike

Any chance that VIN is incorrect? I tried google, and did not work--typically you can learn some thing by searching the VIN

no it's not...at a minimum, it should start ZFF, not ZZF.

    link to an ad, perhaps?

Oooops....my bad. It is indeed ZFF, NOT ZZF. Rest is the same. Don't know how to do a link, except on YouTube. Thanks

Searching the VIN on the 'net for this one raises the hair on the back of my neck.

Absolutely have the dealer provide a copy of the carfax and get an independent one as well.

Oh, and if that plays out nicely then, by all means, go see and drive the car for yourself.

    A few things...

Appears to have been through multiple dealers and auctions during the past year, most listing the same mileage - 8600

    Rolls Royce of Long Island
    Maserati of Bergan County
    Ferrari Maserati of Fort Lauderdale
    The New Auto Toy Store

    Plus the prolific internet advertising.

I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with the car but one would wonder why it's been so difficult to sell.

Also, is the New Auto Toy Store and Specialized Motors one and the same? Because they're both using the same photos.

Also, I've been through the shell game before.

Find a car online, call and go see it only to find that "It's not here, let me make some calls..."

Then follow a guy to a warehouse somewhere.

Specialized Motors is just a broker, right? In other words, they're not actually in possession of the car. Their website makes me think that they're only a listing agent.

Looking at their inventory, the site resolves to:

Got it- thanks. Talked to owner. According to him, pictures are his at his location, and he is in possession of vehicle and owns it. He said other sites using his pictures. Don't know if true or not, but resonates with me, as same thing happens with me in the diamond business (e.g. other dealers and wholesalers list my inventory on their sites for more and then call me to buy if they get a customer). Owner has thus far been very responsive and professional on the phone, and open to accommodating with PPI at dealer of my choosing. As yet unsure of how he IS, but so far he SOUNDS good ( don't they all :))

    I'll keep y'all posted.

And thanks Wade for the heads up. Why anyone who is considering anything even remotely Ferrari related doesn't have an Fchat subscription is beyond me- it consistently pays for itself many times over.

    Best

Id' agree with Wade. Too many listings for the same vehicle. Could be fun to find out what, why. But it seems overpriced (depending on the advertisement).

Lots of threads here on The New Auto Toy store, be careful. PPI is a must.

    Mike,
If you want I can go and have a look at the car, or better yet, there are a couple of independents in Ft. Lauderdale that I can suggest.
