    I am looking for someone in northern California that knows about issues with the fuel system on 88 328 I am having a problem that has me a little stumped , let me know. Thanks. Tom

    The problem is we don't know how much you know. Please read the available Bosch publications on K-Jet theory. DIY'ers can read Probst's book to learn more details and see pics. Insiders will have specialized publications...getting those will require luck/money/certifications/connections.

    After that, the FChat community can assisst in as many ways as there are opinions.

    It's really about you and what you are willing and able to do.

    From your other thread, it looks like Steve answered several questions that are applicable. If his answers were insufficient, you will need more training.

    Good luck and keep us informed of your progress.

    Obviously you'd prefer a "ferrari" expert but the Kjet system was widely used on all sorts of "common" vehicles so anybody that is familiar with Kjets would be able to sort it out. As noted, the Pabst book is excellent if you want to understand how it works and perhaps start doing some DIY.

    Thanks for the responses I am trying to learn as much as I can I have been successful at many repairs so far. I was taking my car to a Ferrari mechanic in the bay area for a while then after I had a tune up new belts etc. About 100 miles later one of the belts shred and bent the valves . I took it back and they wanted almost ten grand to fix it , so I took it home .My brother is a tech for BMW also worked for porsche for a while and I used to build my own drag boats so we decided to deal with it ourselves since my brother knew the same guys that rebuild the heads in the bay area. When we where doing the tear down we noticed someone had put their own marks and everywhere I've read it says only use original Ferrari marks ,it just didn't look right so put it back togther and everything ran fine for a few years then I had a throwout bearing squealing on the clutch, fixed that everything fine for a while . then started getting this little miss ,sometimes worse than others it seems to come on when ever it feels like it ,usually after it has warmed up but not always. So I am looking for as much guidance as I can find to try and fix this problem . Steve has been a great help I can't say enough good things about him. I relly enjoy working on my car myself so any help would be appreciated .I am out in Mountain house Ca. and was wondering if there are any other 328 guys near me that might know of anyone else than the ones I have used or if they have any insight themselves.     100 miles driven after a belt service and 1 failed??? Assuming you did'nt park it for 2 years before driving it, I would have been all over the tech that did the job!

    Ditto on that. Every self respecting mechanic I have run across would want that car back in his or her shop right away to see what went wrong. Maybe it was a one in a million act-of-god type failure, but they would want to know for their own peace of mind at least. And if it was a mistake one of their guys made... Well, that mistake would not be made again.

    The place that did the work had done the 15 and then the 30 when I got it ,so they would have seen the little red paint marks that someone had put on the end when they did the belts. It happened not long after they did them maybe the third or fourth time I drove it and I am don't abuse the car when I drive it , and i could see they where not going to admit fault after talking with them. The best thing is to stay away from them and do not recommend them.So I spoke with Chris in San Ramon Ca he pointed me toward the ignition system so I went under the dash and found a relay for the alarm . I ripped that out it was for the kill switch. Turned the car on and it seemed to sound better (maybe just wishful thinking) drove it around and no miss even at the times it would usually come up. So drove it to work this morning about 30 miles some traffic . it drove and sounded better than it has in a while,pretty much since I had the alarm put in. So on my way home going up a grade on the altamont out of the bay. Half way up the hill that little miss starts up ,so I am going to take the rest of the alarm out and start going through the ignition wiring .see if I see anything funny . any other ideas would be appreciated.
