anyone in project angel flight as a pilot here?!?!?!

Miahnna is a little girl I know, all of 13, just had a rough surgery to correct curvature of the spine, and last night there were bad complications. She has a tube in her chest to drain fluids, they collapsed a lung in the process, and today, she is doing pretty badly. A possibility is pneumonia for one, so she is a little too weak to make the drive back to san antonio, and I think her mom may have already arranged for angel flight, but if on an odd coincidence, a member of this board is involved, please, whatever I can do for you ever, let me know. http://www.piczo.com/Pretty1nPink?g=5528779&cr=2 That is her picture page.

Wow!...what a day...Mi went into surgery at 7am and made it to the recovery/post-op room by 4pm. Mi is back in her room now resting with a morphine drip...she's very swollen in her entire upper body and VERY much IN PAIN.

Here is what they did today

Video Assisted Thoracostomy Spinal Fusion...aka VAST and R/S iliac crest bone graft

What does that translate into??

The Surgeon makes 4 incisions on the right side which allows cameras, medical instruments and titanium rods to be inserted inside Mi's tiny back. The titanium rods stay...they drill small holes into the vertebrae and attach hooks that hold the titanium rods in place. Another incision is made on the right hip...they take bone from the hip to graft the hooks in place.

The doctor expects Miahnna to make a full recovery in 7-8 months. Please continue to keep my baby on your thoughts and prayers.

Sincere thanks to all who have written me such nice e mails in support of Miahnna's recovery. I am saving all of them so she can read them as she begins to recover.

Mi is at the Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas and will be well enough to have visitors by Thursday.
