sure.... BUT... you can get a Vette. you can get it serviced a lot of places. Lots of parts available. GM will be around "forever". Lotus... not so much on the parts, service, etc... has gone bankrupt multiple times. Lotus has joined the suicide pact of car companies claiming moving towards battery only (Emira is supposedly the last ICE car from Lotus). Lotus will not survive this (if they keep going down that path). the Vette is a heck of a "bargain". Sure, not for everyone, but neither is Lotus.
I have found GM declares your car "obsolete" at ten years old, as far as factory support goes... Heavily damaged C8s are already stacking up, at dealers here. Sorry for the derail... Congrats on the sale!!
Yes very different cars I agree but I always liked many different things. But as mentionned the dealer network is much better for the Vette. I've had a few and still have one and even if GM parts gets obsolete there are so many aftermarket manufacturers that parts are always available. I'm pretty sure I will opt for the Vette but want to see the Lotus first. The GM is also cheaper. But the Lotus is MANUAL SHIFT.
Seems that way for just about any car company but with the parts availability between aftermarket and used I don't see any reason my '15 Z won't be on the road 50 years from now like the other classic Vettes that haven't been wrecked...unless of course the government bans it Don't know if you can say that about Lotus or even Ferrari... btw, the Emira is Liz Hurley in an evening gown, just beyond stunning...but that afterthought of a touchscreen...just why? Did they forget about it and just stick it in in the parking lot like a Countach wing?
Once the car arrives I'll only have a day or two to move on it before they put it on the open market at the new (increased) MSRP. So if you're interested, give me a holler.
Last chance. Once it hits the floor this week, if I don't have anyone interested, they'll put it back up at current MSRP.
can the dealer lease it as a new car? In other words are you just 'selling' your spot? or is it going to be a 'resale'? I'm kinda interested but would have to be a lease as my current car lease is just about up. ty
If you don't mind giving me the contact info for the person with whom you've been communicating I can call and check on the lease options. longshot but a shot...
My neighbor brought one home a few weeks ago. It’s also a first edition. I haven’t ridden in it or driven it but it looks and sounds great. It’s a very dark green, appears as black except in the direct sunlight.
I don’t think they are at the price point the OP is offering. The Emira is a great looking car made by a company that is well known. I can’t think of another car that looks that great for under $100k. Once you see one in person you may have a different perspective.
I own a 2010 Lotus Exige S260, a 1979 Lotus Eclat and a 1969 Lotus Type 61 Formula Ford, so clearly I appreciate things Lotus. The simple fact is that regardless of how amazing the car might be numerous dealers have orphans at or below MSRP right now. LotusTalk has a thread devoted to it. Not to say the OP isn't offering a very good deal, because he is, but it is emblematic of the perils of making buyers wait 3 years for a car.
Got mine last month. Absolutely love it! Reminds me of a contemporary version of my old 308. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Think I’m going to sell mine. Too many incoming cars all at once this summer! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What is entry and exit like? Have not had the opportunity to sit in one yet but I did own a '05 Elise which was somewhat difficult for someone 6'3".
