think on the bright side, this way you can feel fast for a day, or not blow a apex seal trying to keep up :D

Hey guys, just a thought but what do you think about heading out to the detail session...hanging for an hour so a little longer and then head up to Westport? I only say this becuase I know that we all like to drive and we all like to have spankin' clean cars. If we leave LI at say 10:30 or so (on the nose) we can get up to CT in tim eto enjoy the Concours and also have some drive time with a good group? What do you think? Just a suggestion...but I figured it would be the best of both worlds.

i didn't come on this board bashing any of you or picking apart shortcomings of your car so let's not bring it to that level...i was simply stating my opinion and that's all...i just hate to see F-cars not being used as they are intended...simple as that...

    P.S. i've yet to meet a ferrari i couldnt' handle on the highway...cept for a bpu F40...;)

I'm not sure 1 1/2 hours is enough....considering we always arrive late. :)
But since we are heading out there anyway, let's call it when we get there.

I know I don't want to detail my car while there, but I do want to learn what I'm doing wrong or can do better. And I do want to ride and I do want to check out the McLaren & Jim's car.

I don't think that anyone is looking to bash you Charlie. Do understand that a good portion of this group on F-chat has no problem driving their Ferrari, Porsche, or whatever at the speeds that they were designed to do and with quite a bit of frequency as well. The problem with the "fun run" lies with the intention to go balls out and see what happens. If you read around on this board, we have all had a long summer and some of us have had some unfortunate run in's with law enforcement. Hence, when we go out as a group we go out to have a good time, drive and enjoy the cars, the day and the company. We don't go out to see how fast our cars will take us and how much trouble we can get in. This is just my opinion of course and the reason that I have chosen to sit out of the run from Montvale (which is minutes from my home). That's the situation here, and when you come out in and insult long standing members of this board...you are not putting yourself in a position of good standing. Just my .02...

    VERY well said.
Any regular board member here could have gotten a hooked up Vette, Viper, BPU+++++++ or single turbo Supdawg or whatever instead of what they drive now , and be the king of highway. So really its just personally preferance.

werd... i aint scared to drive fast but in control (have tickets to prove it)
and aint scared of the 5-0 (have a pic), but i am scared of those young little punk kids that drive talons, rx-7s, etc... who are out to drive stupid fast and reckless with regard of other ferraris.

I agree. Nobody's trying to snub Charlie. It's just that your choice of words showed a lack of sensitivity, a situation that was exacerbated by the fact that you're new to the group.

I do too, but I also agree with Clyde that the session will probably extend beyond 10:30am (plus these things start late anyway). However, if there's a nice breaking point, I'm all for heading to CT.

    Sun + friends + Ferrari's = fun times.
