I was actually afraid to jump it. The frame was one of the small double down tube kind that wrapped under the engine on either side. The engine was so heavy that I thought the frame would break on landing. It really did sound good though.

1973 Spanish 250 GP. Jim Pomeroy of Washington state on a 250 Bultaco.

    Peter Llampu. Kawasaki 500cc.

Hmmmm. When you said riding 1980's machinery I gave up the thought about Kent. He was #1 in 1977. Rode against him on several occasions (alot early on).

Interesting story about him. At the 1972 or 73 (really don't remember the year) Kent was riding at the Lake Whitney 250 National and somehow the scorer missed a lap on him and scored him lower than he should have been. His mom, who was his biggest supporter, also kept his laps and places down. When they scored him a lap down he went to the scoring booth to protest. His mom, who had also had a few beers during the day and was just slightly tipsy, also went to the booth. The scorers would admit no fault and wanted to keep him where he was scored. His mom had better lap boards than the AMA did and she lit into the chief official there and absolutely chewed him up and spit him out. By virtue of her record keeping and just possibly the fact that she could have kicked the chief officials butt, they moved him back up where he belonged. I was ready to go to bat for him because this is about the only raced I was scored above him and I knew he had lapped me once.

Roger Decoster introduced the world to the Ribi front end in 1979. If this is not him, it is the works bike he rode.............

I never actually saw one in person as I had quit riding by then and did not follow it as closely until the 1980's.

I think that the Yankee was a twin OSSA. Mr. Taylor was the US OSSA
distributor at the time. OSSA was the other great Spanish Bike although I was partial to Bultacos. I used to pro flat track in the early 70's with Trent Taylor, his son. He was an awesome racer and great guy who was tragically killed testing his flat track bike on a dirt road near his house.

Who is this very early 1970's rider?

Tony rode privateer on a CZ before Honda. I think I have a picture of him somewhere on it. I will try to locate it.

The other rider is not Tony as he is from the northeast and this rider is from Texas. Let's give Beast a try at this one before I say who it is.

Broc Glover was DQ from the USGP in 85 for riding the bike backwards on the track to bump start it after falling down.

I am thinking Jimmy Wienet (SP) for using a paddle tire in the main event. Cannot remember the year

Looking at the LOP sticker on the Helmet i am thinking Marty Moats(SP?) the first american to ever win a USGP 500cc event.

You got myself on that one i have no clue Marty Smith???.

I could have sworn that Jimmy W got DQ for running a paddle tire at i belive it was the LA supercross in like 78 or 79. I might be wrong on that one.

Here is the cover of the program for the 85 USGP.

Who is rider #2,10 the yellow bike behind #2 and the honda to the left of #10?

    Tony D on #17 Privateer.

Jeff Emig was the first podium finisher disqualified in a "post race inspection" in AMA Supercross history. Jimmy may have been dq'ed but it was probably immediately, not at the post race inspection......

I am having to study this cover. I was not following much during a few years and this is one of them. Let me think about it........................

Wow Rob, how long did you have to look for that?

Did you notice the lay-down shock arrangement. Must be from the mid-1980's.

Now, how about the three guys???????????????
