It isn't all that tough...they just take paint and add hardener...then once it's slightly built-up higher then the surrounding paint, they just buff it all even and it looks about 95% better. That flaky-old wheel-painter used to do it, but is there anyone else that anybody knows of????

I don't want to repaint my bumper every couple months and I just figure there's a way to improve the chips until it's paint time every couple years or so.

Chyaaa......and paint "Federline" on my brake calipers while he's at it!!! ;)

I suppose I could call him, but I'd bet he'd be more inclined to sell me a panel re-paint in the name of "doing it right".....but it couldn't hurt to call/ask.

I have been asking for someone like this for years. They either want to paint the entire bumper or they don't do it(remember Ralph?).
I have asked every detailer I met if they could do this. None of them have taken it on as a side business. Seems like they should
Let me know if you find someone.

Call Mike Crowpman...818/652-9575. He will come to your house and remove your chips. A friend of mine uses him for his Vette, 430 and Lambo, and swears by him.

My bumper on my 360 was covered with chips. Took it to Dave at Premier. Dave repainted it and put on a clear bra. I think it is the best way to go.

Ralph....yes; that was his name!!!! He's long gone and moved way up north. Beyond that, he's thoroughly unreliable...BUT (to his credit) the man was a GENIUS and extremely gifted at what he does. Workmanship, skill and technique: solid 10+....reliability: little to none.

Ralph would combine perfectly matched paint & hardener...then fill the crack, scratch or chip...then buff it down and it would look 95% perfect...and it seemed so simple to do!!!

Sure, there comes a time when a complete re-paint is in order...but I've got this one tiny chip on a top-area panel that just doesn't warrant a complete re-paint just yet. I was hoping to find someone who could do the same as Ralph. I'll give that guy Ron referred a call.

Dave at Primier is VERY friendly & helpful...but he's really not into tinkering with little things or trying to "make-do" on filling chips. I'd be too embarrassed to nag him for such a remedial thing.

Why go through all this hassle? Paint the bumper and apply the paint protection film and be done with it.

I am currently seeing a situation that I am getting paint chips thru the clear bra. It is not terrible, but they are slowly accumulating.
I can see in the future, at this rate, I will need new paint and a new bra.

The chip is NOT in or near the front bumper.....best way to describe the location: it's in an area that you can't see when the top is up...but when the top is down you can see a chip about the size of a tiny grain of rice. It's just behind the passenger side headrest, on that large panel that lifts-up high when the top is going up & down.

A few people have seen it and expressed that repainting the entire section for just that chip alone is rather...how did they put it again? Ah yes: impractical, unnecessary and silly.

The best part of owning a Ferrari is enjoying it..the worst part is having to accept that (like all things) it's always in a state of decomposition and degradation: mileage increases, wear & tear and the inevitable deterioration into a lesser state of prinstine. But hey, I'm not into having a garage queen....it's all about fun, but it'd be nice to keep it as nice as reasonbly while doing so.

    I second the Langka.
    Works great.
I just touch up the stone chips on the front bumper right after I wash the car.

Steve...call the dude in my earlier post. He is very good and will come to your house. He can also swipe out your exhaust. I think he has the new Tubi F1 Trans-Wharp Bullitt Propellsion Dual Nitro Tri-Power Le Mans exhaust system in and it really sound great!!! (may be a tad loud for the neighbors).

Actually....today science & tehcnology has brought us to the point where rats asses are being ground-up and processed into a high-yield fertilizer; farmers are now realizing greater yields and larger crops! ;)

I hear ya. It bothers me enough to fix it as best short of an entire paint job.

That's all I'm looing for...the same basic langka process but they buff it out and really make it look better. Ironically, I have the Langka kit just sitting on my garage's shelf. Still, I'm gonna give Ronnie's guy a call...he'll do it better.

I waiting for that same exhaust system but with the integrated synchoronized tri-functional diametric bypass valves. It actually resonates on a sound level that arouses your genitalia! ;)
