Anyone one here have a bagged truck, SUV, etc?
If so, tell me about it...

I want to know who does it best, where they are, etc etc.

If you know what I am talking about, then post up. If you are asking yourself "What's Bagged mean?", just play on player!

    Thanks

I think it means the trucks that sit on the ground when they are parked, but then some kind of airbag type thing fills up when they start and lifts the truck so they can drive. I could be way off, though.

Edit---I just re-read and saw that you clearly knew what they were...I thought you were asking. I just looked at the "what's bagged mean" part and posted. I'm gonna go ahead and "play on..."

What vehicle are you using? Pickup truck, SUV, car etc? If pickup/suv is it 4x4? if so does it have IFS or a solid front axle?

Do you want it for the purpose of lowering or to lift it to the moon?

IMO 99% of the "kits" are absolute crap, anything good will be a full custom build.

How complex of a system do you want?

If on a truck, do you want load leveling to set a specific ride height and have it auto compensate?

    Are you baggin the ol'e F40? :)

Theres really not a big scene in SA for bagged cars but I know of a few places in Houston who do it. What are trying to bag? IMO, I love when luxury cars get bagged....mmm, sweet but some might disagree.

Ding Ding Ding...we have a wiener!

I was thinking...lay frame on 22's, maybe a supercharger, suede headliner...just simple stuff.

The King is telling me no, so I might scratch the whole deal.

The blackwood might be a real collectable (they couldn't give the friggin things away when they made them so the numbers are low...) But baggit and 22's and you are looking a something less than the sum of the dollars in parts

Baggin a car is a worse addiction then building a track car. Once you get started its hard to stop the temptation to modify your ride more and more.

For me it started when I bought a pristine 1979 Chrysler Lebaron. I am talking Medallion series, top of the line hard top. I started with some sandwhich bags, ziplock style in the rear and used twist ties up front. I thought I was bad until some of my homies went and put on some tall kitchen bags. Not to be outdone, I went with some lawn and garden bags. The intial install used Glad, but I later found that Hefty works much better and is more reliable.

This was a bad time in my life. I was days away from upgrading again, this time to drum liners, when the intervention took place. Thankfully, I'm OK today. There is still some mental scarring, but the years of therapy set me straight.

The only place I know of in SA that does bagging is USA Motorsports.

*Authors note, I'm not recommedning them, nor am I telling you to avoid them.

Compressed air system that uses rubber bladders to control the movement of the car upward or down. The "bagged" term probably originated as slang for "Air bagged".

I just like the way the trucks look when they are lowered to the ground and parked, to me the negative camber of the wheels tipped out makes it stand out.

I just wanted to do something different with that truck, I've had it now for a couple of years, it's basically worth nothing so I figured what the hell.

I know it's not for everyone, but then again neither is an F40...

Check his profile, he just turned 30 last week. He's now officially 'old' and high school girls will find him creepy.

Personally, I just got my first gray hair a couple of weeks ago. Now it will be an interesting race to see if I go bald or gray first. Bald had the early lead, by gray is coming on fast! Oh, and I am I'm only 37.

Wes, you've got a lot to look forward to. Don't fight it. You can always turn that new walker into a low rider. :)

30 is old ;)...why else would I think about a lowered car? My old ass is having trouble getting in the driver's seat after last Saturday!

Sad part is, getting in is easy, its the getting out that makes you feel your age.

"bagged" is just people shortening and using slang for air bag suspension.
    sort of like
"chopping" a streetrod - short for chopping the roof or
"dropping" a car - short for lowering a car (lowering the suspension)
