if im not mistaken, i called about that car- the response was they had NO records on the car...... no service records at all ......... beware.......
Come on guys, don't be paranoid. I bought my car with no records and it turned out great. You just have to be a bit more thorough - ok, way more thorough - in your due dilligence before you commit to the car. A detailed PPI is a must if you are suspicious. But trust your instincts too. If you drive it and it seems a solid car, take it to the next level. Take someone with you to inspect and/or drive it if you do not trust yourself. A fresh set of eyes, hopefully cleared of the red mist (aka Ferrari Acquisition Fever), can really help. As for the cracks in the sails, well, all 348's have this issue and once suspects that it is not that uncommon on 355's esp. higher mileage cars.
Not trying to add to the paranoia, but the nose of the car doesn't look right, maybe its the pictures, but the bumper looks low and there appears to be a minor gap. Maybe just a "parking bump", but still, I'd look at the car in person before pulling the trigger. Also, what is this dealer doing with it? I'm not sure they are a regular F-car/exotic dealer (view inventory, they have audi's, trucks, a bimmer, but not a focused exotic dealer), did they get it at auction? Trade in? Whats the story? Its a 95, so headers and valve guides need to be considered. Good price and "resale red/tan". I dunno, but I'd be cautious if it was my money, but the pictures and descriptions (and lack of records) wouldn't kill the deal.... seeing the car in person might.... James in Denver
