This car is for sale at a small exotic dealership in Bedford Heights, Ohio.

    1990 348 VIN-ZFFFG36A2L0084805

    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=184058485&dealer_id=55043574&car_year=1990&search_type=both&make=FER&distance=0&model=&address=11369&certified=&advanced=&max_price=&bkms=1128853839031&min_price=&end_year=1990&start_year=1990&isp=y&lang=en&cardist=401

The mileage listed is extremely low, 12,000 miles and the car is for sale for $49K. My general rule of thumb is I don't trust cars dealers futher than I can throw them.

If I get serious about this particular car, I will carfax it and try to track down the previous owner before flying in to see it. I just figured a fellow F-chat member might be able to identify this car from the VIN or milage.

    My thanks in advance!

... and that's exactly why I don't trust small dealers and auction cars.

    Thanks so much Mike!

Companies like Carfax make mistakes too. It is always a good idea to run your vin # through several databases to confirm the information all comes up the same. Autocheck does not have records previous to 1996, does that mean the problem is the car, the dealer or autocheck? I think your assuming the dealer without much substantiated information.

The car may be legit, I would put the burden on the seller to document its mileage & service history.

I recently paid for a PPI & negotiated a deal on a 348 then ran carfax & found huge problems here is that thread:
