Anyone know HW plans for future releases, It looks like they are working their way backwards, or starting at both ends (Enzo/166)
what are their future plans regarding older models ?
Are they planning to go back a produce all models?
    Mondys, 400, 246, 330 etc. ???

I hope, it would be fun to collect the whole (or most) of the lineage

Mule where ya at buddy, you always have your thumb on the 1/18 world ;)

Would love for them to come out with a 375MM. Although, I would hope it looks better than the 166MM. Saw one the other day and was disappointed in how "cheap" it looked. The new Lusso is a different story...pleasantly suprised.

    John,
    My opinion:

They have done everything back to the 308 and Dino, but skipped the Mondial, 512TR, GT4 and 400/412. Those could be contenders, but in the outside world, they may not be popular enough to sell in the numbers Mattel would like. Mattel wants a large appeal, and those might have a narrow lane of interest.

We have a couple 250's, Daytonas, and Kyosho has the Boxers, so they are out. Maybe they will get a 430 and 575 replacement out soon, when the real ones are released.

Maybe a 166 Spider Corsa for the far end or something from the 60's or 70's, like a 275 GTB or P4. 308/328 GTS's would be good. I am trying to think of what I saw in Monterey that does not exist yet.

I want a 512TR, since Mira is the only one who has made that, and I think the Mattel would be better.

It really is open, since they have all the modern cars. Maybe the Mattel designers are worrying about what is next, too. I bet 430.

    I wish they would release more 2+2s such as 365 GT 2+2 or 400i , 412 etc.
and also I hope they launch the 430 in UNRED versions .
and I'd die for a Breadvan or Bertone's cars like 308GT4 or 250SWB

This is turning into a wish list. I would like them to get more 1/18 race cars or restart production if they had already produced it earlier:
    - 330 P4
    - 512S
    - 250 P
    - 250 SWB
    - 156 Sharknose
    - 1967 312 F1

On the road car side I want
    - 275 GTB-C
    - 275 GTB/4
    - 512 TR (as pointed out earlier)

    Sameer,
You have a good point with the 330 P4 and the 156 shark nose. They did them both in 1:64, so they feel they have some history and popularity. At least both of those cars exist in the Mattel world.

On second thought, did Mattel ever do the F50 in 1:18?

They need to do a complete '60s/'70s 2+2 series, 250GTE thru at least 365GT4 2+2. Also specialty models like 500 Superfast, and additional 2 seaters such 365GT4, 330/365 GTC & GTS, etc.

Lots of 2+2 owners out there, including me, who would like a model of their car and other vintage production Ferraris.

Yup - I have one (see here: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32827 )- they made the open top and closed top version.

Online stores sell it for $29 a piece

I'm already licking my lips and clearing the shelf-space for the 430 when they release it. After that will be the 600 Imola or whatever they call the replacement for the 575 Maranello.

But a 275 GTB/4 would be a nice addition to their line-up. I think ERTL is still the only ones to have made them, at least from among the major manufacturers.

1/18th 275 GTBs are included in my Exoto Catalogue for Winter 2004 both a red shortnosed 275TB and a long-nosed 274 GTB/4 in black with wBorrani wiresare listed with release dates of "late 2004" and list prices of $239.95 each.

Unfortunately Exoto isn't real good at delivering on their release dates, we're still waiting for the GTO that was promised last winter. As you can see they are a bit pricier than the Hot Wheels or even Kyosho models but trust me, they'll be worth every penny. To my knowledge only Michele Conti builds better, more detailed models than Exoto.

    Exoto's catalogues also list plans for a 250GT SWB, F40 and a Birdcage Maserati (tipo 60 & 61) all due "late 2004".
