At Road Atlanta yesterday. Zagato badge. Appeared to be polished aluminum. Does anyone know this car? I'm thinking it is a replica. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I know this car and and witnessed it being built but it is for sure not one of the original 19, AMOC Lime Rock or Silverstone. It was built for Jack Boxstom in the UK by Shapecraft , although a very good copy. Cheers kdl
This car is not a real DB4/GT Zagato, I do not know what identity it carries but the I.D. plate would tell all. As I recall both the chassis and the body was fabricated in the early 90'S. Look at the reality of this scenario, who would take a multi dollar car, strip the paint, polish the alloy body and turn it into a pure race car
I also doubt it is one of the http://www.classicdriver.com/en/article/cars/driven-aston-martin-db4gt-zagato-sanction-ii cars. Looks like a sliced and diced DB4/5 or 6.
this is one reason I hate replicas, so many good car people get fooled, so everyone else certainly does. Being something you aren't, certainly not a good quality.
Nice cars for sure but on the scale of cool, not even close to a real deal cobra from the sixties. Even the Shelby continuation series don't touch the originals.
I hate cobras the worse! they come to local shows with 50-60's and Shelby Cobra on entry sheets, I have never seen a single show placard on cobra with "1990's" or "replica" and I have seen 739 over my years. :d
Kirkham Motorsports Billet Cobra Frame There are knock offs and then there are originators Kirkham is far and beyond the original car, they are the best! Sorry to hijack this thread but the story must be told http://www.youtube.com/embed/20MDnqCqiHk?autoplay=1
I know there are good, better, and best Cobras. replicas are still replicas though! if they were such originators they would have done an ORIGINAL body.
I see them all the time at car shows and just assume they are knock offs. I heard this one driving in from four blocks away Image Unavailable, Please Login
You forget that Shelby did not fabricate an original body for his Cobra. He merely stuffed a Ford engine into a slightly modified AC Bristol body.
Yup.. And least we forget..Ferrari themselves certified a replica Ferrari as real through there classic program. Not all replicas are junk. Some fool the experts.
