One of the highlights at Pebble Beach was meeting up with Dick Fritz, the former NART team manager in charge at Sebring 1969. He remembers very well the old days and also the dark blue Dino 206 GT.... More interesting updates to follow in the next days.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was always wondering why the number board on the co-driver side was square and not round, what is it about the tape strip coming out of the triangle window and why did the Dino didn`t have the mandatory number lighting.... ? Dick could provide the answer... The Nart team use an illuminated panel from General Electric that side of the car which was powered by 12 volts, back in 1969! The GE panel was very light green when lit. I do need this illuminated foil from 1969 on my car.... or do need to create something very similar to the original one. Can anybody help with any information on these GE illuminated panels? Looks like this restoration will never finish.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I should be able to custom build you a setup similar to the original one, mail me the dimensions and the artwork and i'll have a look... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Matthias, Could it be an Electroluminescent (EL) Panel? Electroluminescent (EL) Panel - 10cm x 10cm Aqua ID: 623 - $13.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits Something on the history: Electroluminescent Light - Light Emitting Capacitor (LEC) Freeman

unfortunately no stickers on the rear of the car, picture must have been taken before the race day, so still searching for a picture from behind at race day or after the race.... but this picture confirms I do have the correct steering wheel Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
just found this on YouTube, put on recently, unfortunately filmed in the days before the race (practice laps) not at the race day... but it clearly shows the lock of the trunk lid of the centre, more to the left.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TPclo6-oRU does anybody know how I can contact the guy who put it on YouTube? I had some fun going back in the time machine to 2011 and read some of the blogs (No names to protect the guilty!): "sold for $116k +" "I don't mean to be disrespectful to any buyer of this car, but there is so much work needing to be done, what are you planning on making the car into? Myabe a race car will explain the final result, but.....holy cow!!!" "Wow that is a staggering amount of money for that car. Maybe the buyer believes what was written in the ad or maybe he's just way smarter than the rest of us." Freeman
OK, Freeman, this was my comment. If you look at a couple of posts earlier, I did guess reserve and final bid. I am not saying I had any idea as to why, but it was a guess. I think Matthias was extremely smart and fortunate to have some info no one else had. I can't think of any reason one of us Dino guy's would have an issue now. However, back in the day, let's say you have a "BASIC" 206 Dino, and were going to be dealing with a car like this.....These were crazy numbers. I guess the real question is, what did Matthias put in as the high bid, knowing what he was looking at, but also afraid someone else knew too. Matthias? Shawn
Matthias, I still question the nose badge being off set. Are we sure the stripes weren't just off set? Shawn
Oh Shawn, there is more to that story and the price but since you like to be mysterious, I'll just say "something almost happened"
Andrew, I can honestly say I had no idea what this car was. I wish I did. I am just ecstatic it found the owner it has now. I wish it was me, but I didn't have a clue until well after. It is worth looking at the eBay pictures for those who don't remember. CRAZY Shawn
Shawn, the nose badge isn`t off set, but the trunk lock is also on my other 206 GT! AutoSport asked me during restoration if they should put it straight, I said no way, keep it original.... that`s why I´m so happy now the get the confirmation despite it looks odd... nobody believed it... unfortunately doesn`t work... the name of the guys who did the film seems to be Dread Nought and Paul R. Brownell maybe somebody has heard of them....
I'd like you'll help me to find another one for my #00308. I've the original manifolds (with tuning boxes, as seen here) but the exhaust is that one for 246. Thanks in advance.
Do you know someone in Italy or Germany who can make a right reproduction? What is the diameter of the original exhaust terminals? Thanks again a lot.
Today I received the official records brochure Sebring 1969. It confirms, that the Nart Dino 206 GT no.38 finished 36th overall and first in Sports "S" (Group 4) unter 3 litre! The other red Nart Dino 206S no.37 finished second Prototype "P" (Group 6) unter 2 litre Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
