After putting my 355 in Ferrariads, I checked out the competition and saw this one. At $72,000, you will not find a better deal on a FULLY SERVICED 355 Spider in the country! Seems too good to be true, but I talked with the dealer and he says there is no "story" there. Appears at least $10k low, even though it hasn't had the exhaust and valve guide fixes. Does anyone out there know this car?Someone buy this thing and get it off the market for me!
Is Lance the owner and dealer or just the dealer? I think I've met him before and if its the guy I am thinking of he specializes in selling Mazda RX-7's but personally owned a 355 spider with a tricked out audio system. If this is his car I would have some confidence in its condition as he was a passionate enthusiast 'car guy', though not necessarily a Ferrari guy. The price does not seem too far out of wack. The audio system and wheels are worth virtually nothing in a resale and the car does have 38K miles on it. Also, being 10 years old it may be due for its second 30k service, depending on when the first one was completed.
I agree with ROb the price is about right on considering 38K miles and the age. as said the aftermarket stuff adds zero value.
The "LA" in LA Motorcars stands for Lance Adams, the owner. He has 2 E46 M3's that's been on autotrader for a real long time that were priced below competitor ads. I decided to check them out one day and found out why they were priced as such. The Titanium Silver M3 had it's aftermarket stereo removed, but the removal wasn't quite the clean job that I had imagined -- it would have cost me the difference between his price and NADA value to bring it up my standards. The Laguna Seca Blue M3 was his daily driver and the interior also wasn't up to par to my standards. I happened to check out the 355 in his showroom while waiting for him to get off the phone. I can't comment on its mechanical condition, but I'll say it wasn't quite a garage queen. Lance is a very nice and laid back guy though. If he didn't voluntarily toss me the keys to his LSB M3 and let me test drive it, then I probably would not have bought an M3. Michael.
