http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120647694007 Seems like a decent price and car...Silver is not my favorite, but could live with it. At least the interior is black. I already emailed the seller to .pdf me the service records and asked why it had been to the auction so many times in the past 2-3yrs. Let me know please if any of you know this car personally! It comes with the stock starfish rims...i would get F430 rims for it asap!
With $19k worth of recent service receipts my personal opinion is that it is a great buy . On the multiple auction visits, my guess would be this car was plagued by the common F 1 problems but apparently was addressed with the recent service.
If silver isn't your favorite, I would pass. You will find another well maintained, well optioned car in your color with some patience.
Seller has a wholesale License (like I do) and has brought it to the auction a few times to sell, but didn't hit his minimum. Is the challenge grill a necessity on a 360 or what?
BlkBlt...i was checking they run about $2k? seems expensive...any market for them used? I imagine, they don't wear out and thus if not scratched or dented, would be like new...maybe off one that crashed in the front and salvaged or something...I am seriously considering this car. For the price i have negotiated, it appears to be a great deal. I am checking the service records tomorrow. I have to spend about $1500 shipping, but oh well.
I was considering a silver 2000 360 coupe F1 few mos ago also from the Sacramento Maserati in similar condition, asking about the same amount. It didn't have rear Challenger grill, and when I looked into replacing it, used ones were running around $700. Since it's not a part that wears, I think used ones should be fine; I hear it's very easy to change it out. I would highly recommend a PPI; it will cost you $350 but could save you a lot of hassle & trouble, even in a car that just had major service. I'm speaking from an experience. I ended up passing up on what I thought was a great buy after getting a PPI revealing issues that I wasn't aware of, and bought a Rosso 2004 360 Spider that I'm very happy with. I think silver looks great on a coupe, especially with black interior!
Schunmd, thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. I will probably have the PPI done if i decide to pull the trigger on this one.
You might want to check out two 2000 360's at the Sacramento Maserati website. Sales manager (forgot his name) seemed very honest and knowledgeable on Ferrari. He owns F355 himself. I think both yellow and silver 360's have been sitting in their showroom for several months now, and he may be willing to make a deal. Good luck with your search!
Definitely get a PPI. Silver on black with no challenge, no shields and stock rims is pretty plain but, on the bright side, gives you lots of upgrade options. I think he is about $5-6k high on pricing. How many members on here spend $19k in one sitting on maintenance? Thats almost 1/3 of the car's value! (and this guy gets a discount since he is a dealer). To me that sounds like a lot of deferred maint which doesnt speak well for the prior treatment of the car.
I was looking at this car at one point too. Didn't get that great of a feeling the dealer wouldn't even let me talk to the actual owner the sales guys kept telling me to ask them and they'd get me the answers.
This car is personally owned by the seller...he has a brokers license, but it is his car...I might still buy it...
hold out for the color you want. And get a PPI !! There are plenty out there- get exactly what you want. Prices may come down over the winter, too. Just my $.02
