Don't know the car (or the seller) but in this market it shouldn't be over $100k - especially from a private party. Couldn't tell much about the condition of the car from the pix, but a search on this forum will tell you what to look for even before the PPI (e.g., leather shrinkage on the dash). Not knocking it, it could be great, but in this market it seems like only the best cars are into six figures, and then only from a dealer. PS - let us know how you do.
I agree with you 100% on the price...I like the car and the color combination though. Spoke to the guy a couple of months back, but he was pretty firm on his price then ( about $10K more than now I think). If I could find some history on the car, it would be good. Or I may just wait a month or two and try to get a 575 at a good price ( think there are a few others on here thinking the same way....)
that color combo is a bit of a resale liability with the light colored interior. tell him to put the original wheels back on and sell his 575 wheels separately - i bet that's bumping the price up a lot. does he have the full history on the car? tell him to fax or email it to you. g/l with your search! doody
Just goes to show - beauty is in the eye....and wouldn't life be boring if we all agreed....just got rid of my Maserati QP with that combo - very " European ", and no matter how hard I tried, I could not get to like it !! Somehow I can't believe that ANY leather used in a 550 would look like ' plastic ' when seen in real life ( ie not a picture...)
I also prefer the more natural leather colors over the obviously dyed ones (although you can't go wrong with black). The interior probably does look better in person - it really does look like plastic in the pics - but I think that might be one of those colors that is difficult to keep clean.
Really nice in person. I had charcoal in my car. I can't stand tans with greys or blues. Cuoio is way to orange. Car could use daytona's with black straps, but looks nice. There is a black/grigio scuro 550 with sport seats, CF, and quilting that is for sale somewhere that is stunning. Plus a certain 599 that uses grig scuro too Light leathers not hard to keep clean, just check for bolster wear. Vat dyed wear better. I've had all colors of leather, and the light greys/cremas are as easy as tan or black.
